I had already figured this out or well I should say asked my self this question. Like with many thing I figured out on myself before it was known to the general public. Like when a person is angry and you say something random which in turn would make them stop being angry and forget about attacking you, this was a strategy I used against my bullies in school when I was like 10 years old or younger (I was almost always bullied by older guys for some reason if not older they would be in groups). Later on a study came out proving this but damn I can't find the study now my English is pretty limited can't use the right words so google won't show it up can anyone find it for me?Anyway, as with this question in title that is now being asked around and I came across this again but I never figured it out because I guess I didn't put much thought into it. But today I decided to do so and I think I solved it pretty quickly, tell me what you think.

I think It has to do with mix of confidence and intelligence. When a stupid beta person sees a smart ALPHA person they will imitate them and usually smarter people are more confident and thus the person who is dumb and BETA will rely himself on the more confident and intelligent person to build themselves up and learn. Like when a child watches their parents to learn. This would also mean that the person is observing secretly on that smart confident person. it's an unconscious act most of the time and natural but as the person realize they are copying the other that's where the ego sets in.

another one is when you scratch yourself and the other does aswell feel itchy at the same time but the more confident one will scratch first the other is just following etc

or when you just move your body while sitting in a way and the other does the same at the same time or have u seen in a podcast when a guy moves the mic so does the other shortly after
