Hi everyone

I've got my first purchase of NMN, it's the alive by nature sublingual powder.

I'm wondering how other's store their's.  It's up on my bookshelf, but with the heating coming on in the winter, I wonder whether I should put it in the fridge.  There isn't really anywhere cool in my flat once winter comes

as the heating comes on in all rooms.

Anyone?  I've heard it may become counter productive if allowed to heat?

Thanks.

Just one other thing noted, since I've been taking it (a week), my appetite is reduced quite a lot.  A coincidence or a known effect?

Thanks

You should store it in fridge. It can degrade so heat is not the best idea. People report weight loss on NR and NMN but i think you’ll adjust after a while.

I always associate the fridge with moisture and worrying it'll somehow seep inside the tub.  But anyway, I've put it in the fridge.

Thanks

Hi Rosanna,

I do not think that it is good to take the tub out of the fridge for each use. I think it can lead to condensation. I do not see this as an issue for encapsulated NMN which I store in the fridge for daily use. Relatively, airtight bottle backed up by relatively airtight capsule.

Right now, my refrigerator is 34.2 degrees and 37 % humidity. I use Prohealth, My concern with the tub which is not completely filled is that I do not see how the design keeps it airtight once it is opened. If I remember correctly Alive's is a smaller tub. Maybe the lid is designed to seal well. For Prohealth, I transfer a couple weeks worth into a tiny mason jar with blue painters tape wrapped around it to keep light out. I keep that in a dry,  cool closet for daily use. I put a little plastic wrap on the top of the tub before putting the lid on for cold storage. But, my last purchase was for a 100 gram bag. I keep that frozen for refilling my jar. I let it come to room temperature before transferring from the bag. Then I put it back in the freezer.

Good luck.

Mine is in the freezer, -5c, dry as a bone and simply in the little tub they provided. I have seen it decompose under heat and humidity, visually it appears to breakdown into chromophores that give it a yellow tinge.

I leave the powder in the jar sitting on my counter, and haven't noticed any change over the 30-45 days it takes me to finish. Usually buy 2 or 3 at a time and keep unopened jars in fridge.

I did have some turn yellowish on a trip to costa rica when it was stored in non climate controlled area of high heat and humidity for 5 days.  Tablets were fine under same conditions, so seem a bit more stable.

Thanks for all the helpful replies.  I'm keeping it in the fridge for now, but with cellophane around it to prevent any moisture.  If I notice any yellow tinge, I'll discard and try a different way.

The lack of appetite on this is intriguing.  It's early days, but feel otherwise fine on it.  And still eating one meal a day so let's see.
