Is TRt shutdown permanent? Does the suppression last, and if so, how long?

In short yes its permanent. Bodybuilders go through an extensive restart protocol and typically take hcg while on steroids to keep their testicles functioning so the restart is easier and better. But even long ttime bodybuilders who spends years taking steroids off and on suffer from lower T than if they hadn't gone on anabolics.

The degree of shutdown depends on the person and their age and health.

The question is why would someone go on trt if their levels were good enough to now want to be off trt.

Clomid and arimidex or nolva are what bodybuilders use to restart their system.

Contrary to popular belief hcg should not be used in a restart because it shuts down the pituitary axis of T production... Its only used while on trt to maintain testicular functioning and fertility.

There are peptides that will stimulate the pituitary but the results are mixed and if you use too much you will chemically castrate yourself and make your low T even worse.

Cool over what timeframe of use do the effects become irreversible? Eg can one do a 2-month cycle with no effects, etc.

The first time you ever inject testosterone. No you can't do a 2 month cycle and expect to recover normally.

If you want to screw up your health for a 2 month cycle to gain 5 to 7 pounds of muscle you will lose when you stop the anabolic then hey man its still a free country.
