what can be done about this? is it as easy as hormones, or is there receptor sensitivity at play?

A ton of different mutations play a role. Watch Eddie Hall's videos on his DNA on his official Youtube channel.

He is and used to be the world record holder for many different feats of strength.

Surely a lot is just testosterone (muscle) and thyroid (lean) levels. I got naturally high testosterone.. and well, I was muscular even before starting keto (which made me lean)
