Seminar on Healthy Aging

With reference to International Longevity Day (Ist October) and Aging Awareness Month, Pakistan Aging Research Society (PARS) arranged an online seminar in collaboration with Department of Zoology, The Women University, Multan on 4th January 2021 from 12 to 1 pm. “Can we be young forever”. Dr. Aftab Ahmad (Founder; PARS) gave an overview of aging, healthy aging, aging research in Pakistan and how we can have healthy lifestyle by changing our behavior and also elaborated that how we can have longer life span and what interventions we can do?. Dr. Aftab added that by physically active, reducing chronic stress, quitting smoking, balanced diet, adequate sleep and drinking enough water we can slow down the aging process. It was an interactive session and all the participants actively participated in discussion about healthy aging. After the lecture, concluding remarks were given by Dr. Asia (Head of Department) in which she appreciated the contents of the talk and also stressed that such lecture should be arranged on regular basis. The seminar was arranged by PARS in collaboration with Longecity which sponsored different aging seminars in Pakistan. At the end of talk Dr. Aftab Ahmad fully acknowledged the support from Longecity. The seminar was planned earlier but due to COVID it was delayed and finally conducted in the start of 2021.
