There has already been some outburst over it already http://news.bbc.co.u...cas/6650545.stm

Looks like it should be interesting. Hopefully someone will youtube/google video the episode to post here.

I saw a couple stories on them trying to suppress it. (and getting people like Travolta to speak out against it)

It should be interesting.

To be honest, it didn't really show anything that we didn't know already. Interesting watch, yes, but nothing new. Hopefully someone will post a link to it.

I found a 40-year-old British documentary about L. Ron Hubbard:

Maybe that is true for him, but talk to JK Rowling about making a lot of money.... Apparently she is the richest person in the UK(?)!

South Park explains Scientology:

I love how they put "This is what Scientologists actually believe" on the screen. The writers didn't have to work hard at that part of the episode, just tell exactly what Scientologists believe, and it is strange enough.

Evidently for the next 7 days (6 now?) you can watch the program in full on the BBC website too:
http://news.bbc.co.u...ama/default.stm
(click "watch now" at the top)

Edit: Here is another 3 part one on YouTube of the same thing (in the second part of the above YouTube one, the audio got off a bit from the video, at least on my screen):
Pt 1
Pt 2
Pt 3

Wow, after watching the video, I am surprised at how ruthless those people are. I knew they tried to get at people who opposed them, but man alive, I didn't know they went so far.

How anyone can believe that crap is beyond me. At least Christian religions don't follow their enemies and try to dig up dirt on people or intimidate people. Its almost like the mafia or something.

What amused me most was when the Scientology guy was getting mad after the interviews with the "celebrities" going how dare you disrespect these people, asking them stupid questions.... and I was just thinking, yeah, because Kirstie Alley has done some really great work lately... and so on with the others. No publicity is bad publicity?

"holy" shit.

This is one of the scariest things humanity has ever produced. How insidious.

Actually, it reminds me of Idiocracy (the movie) how that drink company bought the FDA and all of the other food and drink regulatory body so that it could expand into every region, and ends up being what the people used to water plants because there was nothing left to stand against such a stupid idea.

Brawndo(?) - It's got what plants want. - Its got electrolytes.

Words are not enough to explain the ignorance of human nature.

I was talking to a psyciatrist i know about the scientologists, mostly as a series of add campaigns have started here recently in the movie cinima's mostly... The gist of it is, if you are taking any medication for your mental health issues, theyare not working, stop taking them immediatly they are hurting you come to us we can fix you.

I asked my friend why the psyciatric board did not put a message up after said add saying that if you are on medication, to stop taking it immediatly would be dangerous, and she told me that about 7 years ago, the mental health associations board leader, her friend, did speak out against them publically.

a day or so later, his car was fire bombed outside the family home.

So what do you do?

Holy Crap!

"Fair Game"

As usual, religion allows people to take the extreme "Us and Them" and paint the 'them' as sub human, where usual morals don't apply.

Another interesting tidbit about the South Park Scientology episode is the tension it created between Parker/Stone and Issac Hayes (a scientologist and the voice of Chef).

If you scroll down to the bottom of Isaac Hayes wiki profile you can read more about the controversy that surrounded Hayes leaving the show.

Unfortunately the video was taken down (and not allowed to be put back up). There are places to download that whole episode, though, if anyone is interested. It is a hilarious episode.

When Chef (aka Isaac Hayes) left, the episode they did was freaking hilarious. South Park is such a great show, and Scientology is such an evil, brainwashing cult.
