Today begins the 40th anniversary of the Six-Day War (June 5, 1967 – June 10, 1967). One of the most influential 6 days in all of history. (and has been influential on the 40 years since)

What are the feelings in Israel about the war and what has happened in the mean time? I assume it is looked at with relief since Israel was not destroyed as was the plan.

Good luck and a hope for eventual lasting peace to everyone in Israel!

Whatever your opinions about the six-day war or Israel in general may be, you have to respect their military prowess. Talk about a tough, scrappy little nation -- with their backs against the sea, surrounded by enemies on all sides, they've taken on and beaten all comers. Pound-for-pound, probably the most potent military in the world.
