They are spending a lot of time on energy needs. (solar power and whatnot)

Though they did a good job of handling it. I could see George thinking about climbing into the tinfoil tepee. I'm really curious to see if he brings up shadow people or fallen angels. The latter is one of the big boogiemen on coast when the topic of genetic engineering comes up.

All things considered though, so far this showing has exceeded my expectations by a pretty large margin. To the point where I still haven't gotten my lazy foot out the door.

Yeah, he hasn't been paranoid or conspiracy theorish at all. I don't normally listen, so I don't know how much of a departure that is from normal, but he seems to just be a good host so far, asking lots of interesting questions.

You guys that are regular listeners: He has a call in part after this hour is over? If so, some of us should call in.

I think Kurzweil is blowing Noory's mind. He keeps saying "wow" when Kurzweil talks about coming technologies, haha.

I'm tempted to give a call in. I've tried in the past during transhumanist or life extension themed shows, but never managed to get anything but a busy signal. This time around as well, I think I'm way too zonked to do justice to the topic.

At the end of this segment, I was half expecting qualia to be brought up. That would have made for a great forking of the conversation. :)

Does the "AM" in Coast to Coast AM refer to morning time (AM on a clock) or AM radio? I was noticing most of the affiliates were AM (although I saw a couple FMs in there)

Man, I wish Shannon (wing_girl) had been on. I keep wondering what she would have said every time the conversation takes a new turn.

Some of these callers during the call in segment are pretty nutty, lol.

I don't know exactly what I was expecting, but a call about the aether was not among them! Still, not nearly as bad as when Lisa Randall was on and she was asked about humanoid shadow entities which the caller feared were entering into our dimension. What really surprised me was that there were no accusations of the panelists being the minions of fallen angels trying to manipulate our dna so that the second coming of Jesus couldn't occur. Believe it or not, it's been a common accusation on the show.

That aside, I have to say, excellent show all around. I was especially thrilled that George seemed so enthused about the topic at the shows end. The amount of people who listen to the show is huge, and as the topic started out, getting people interested who have the ear of the people is very important. I also loved the whole spiritual angle. It wasn't totally up my personal alley, but I think it's exactly what might draw a large percentage of the listeners in.

Man, I hope JMorgan successfully ripped it. I woke up at 3 am, a little too late.

Yes, hopefully someone snagged it. For the type of show that it is, it was very good I thought. (the last hour was a bit less good than the previous 2 hours, but thats ok) I heard Kurzweil say some stuff that I hadn't heard him bring up before. (which is pretty good since he tends to rehash the same things over and over in his talks I have seen) If someone didn't record it, then maybe one of the guys with access to the Coast to Coast archives that spoke up earlier would be so kind as to slip a copy under the table to those who missed it. :))

Or stargates, or the Mayan end of the world in 2012, or recovered alien technology from Roswell, New Mexico.

The files are broken down into individual hours starting from when Transhumanism is first introduced. (I've skipped the first hour about the pets. :) )

Mp3 Clip 1
Mp3 Clip 2
Mp3 Clip 3

If I encounter copyright issues, I'll be taking them down quickly so grab them while you can.

Charlie was listed as an Immortality Institute member (in the list of all the things he does).

It is all very good so far, I'll post anything of particular note.

Philipe's perspective from terrorism prevention and his military views were good (in clip 3) James Gardner did a great job all the way along, Barbara was very spiritually minded and supportive of Gardner--Kurzweil covered technology expertly as always.

It was good to listen, I suppose that smart kids will learn about this stuff when they grow up, anyway--I guess I'm just trying to get more kids in general interested :) Thanks for putting up the interview JMorgan!

wing_girl, as I said earlier in this thread, I kept wondering what you would say every time a question was asked or the conversation took a turn. I am sure you would have had some good answers.

Well I hope I still get into the movie :) I'm pretty sure since I talked with the producer for 45 minutes, and he wants me to talk about the family issues... If I'm on-line there, I'll update!

Transhumanism discussion

Here is the audio from the Coast to Coast A.M. discussion about transhumanism. Ray Kurzweil is a hero of mine and I found him to be very wise with the way he talks and explains things and he does a great job and helping people understand these emerging technologies.

Ray Kurzweil is the 21st Century Thomas Edison. Thank you very much for posting this, I love listening to Kurzweil interviews.
