Hi all,

Members of the Israeli trans-humanist chapter will hold a panel on Life-extension at the forthcoming conference of the Israeli Society for the History and Philosophy of Science.

The Conference will take place on March 16, Sunday, in the Bloomfield Museum of Science, Jerusalem (near Givat Ram campus of the Hebrew University).

The panel on Life-extension will be held at 16.00, in the Einstein auditorium of the Museum.

The entire conference will be a massive, exciting event (from 9.00 to 19.00), central in the field in Israel, with panels ranging from Technology and Legislation, to Education in the Digital World, to Alternative Medicine, to History and Philosophy of Biology, to Virtual reality and Hi-Tech.

1. Dr. Frida Simonstein
Dept of Health System Management, Yezreel Valley College,
"Research on ageing and stem cells. Intimations with indefinitely prolonged lives (IPLs)"

2. Dr. Doron Garfinkel.
Shoham Medical Center and the Israeli society for the retardation of age-related processes.
"Retardation of the aging processes – facts and fantasies"

3. Rachel Hillel,
Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Bar-Ilan University,
"Aging body as disturbing the social order"

4, Ilia Stambler,
Dept of Science, Technology and Society. Bar-Ilan University.
"Elie Metchnikoff and the rise of the Life-extensionist movement"

אני ממש ממש ממש תכננתי להגיע. עכשיו אני לא יודעת אם אוכל כי תקעו לי שם מבחן באנגלית -_- אני מקווה שאוכל להשלים אותו, אבל אני בספק אם המורה ההיא תסכים... אני באמת מקווה להגיע.

הי. בסך הכל היה די נחמד. לא מהפכה גדולה, אבל בכל זאת הצלחנו להעלות את הנושא לדיון בפורום מאד מכובד. כמובן נשמעו הקריאות הרגילות על פיצוץ האוכלוסיה וצ'עמום, אבל בסך הכל הייתה אווירה מאד פוזיטיבית.

המפגש הבא יתקיים בע"ה ב-9 למאי, יום שישי אחרי יום העצמאות. מקווה לראותכם בקרוב

This year too
I would like to invite you guys to the conference of the Society for History & Philosophy of Science that will take place on Sunday, April 5, 9:00-18:30 at Bloomfield Science Museum, Jerusalem.

Some panels will be related to Transhumanism (Neural computing, AI, organ transplants, post-human reproduction).
