The articles and video segments on-line at ABC news are way more in-depth than the actual special was. Friends of mine at Church, were disappointed at how glossed over all the topics were. Hopefully enough people were interested enough to look up the extra footage, and article at ABC news on-line.

Thanks Bruce, you all know to me cryonics is common sense, and woven into all my social activism, volunteering, parenting and church life ;) just 'normal'. I've been loving answering lots of questions from friends of mine today, been quite busy talking cryonics :).

I posted at Facebook, and also shared the link to this thread a few places. The 'Freezing Yourself into the Future' is a great piece on cryonics and Alcor, so if you can share it--then please do so:

You go to this page, and click on 'Freezing Yourself Into the Future' : http://abcnews.go.co...o...3291&page=1

I'm hoping since the average person researches cryonics a year or so, before starting the application process--than some will be piqued enough to say want a subscription to Cryonics magazine (I can get a year's subscription of anyone, you can share those too, just send me the addresses ;) ).

"As technology continues to progress and we now enter the Biotech age, many are beginning to believe living to 150 is becoming a real possibility.
Reaching 100: "Live to Be 150… Can You Do It?" focuses on a group of centenarians in an attempt to learn their secrets of such remarkable longevity and also clears up many misconceptions about living life at age 100. With centurions still driving cars, playing music in bars and living an active sex life many of these ideas fall outside the mainstream thinking of Grandma or Grandpa.
If you missed Live to be 150 with Barbara Walters, you can watch Live to be 150 on the below link."

This is all i see in the window where the clip was supposed to be; Where is the GODDAMN link?!! Damn i really hate websites that are disorganized and hard to figure.

Congratulations on the TV interview!!! ;)

I didn't get to see it because I work second shift, but I hope that more positive interviews will air on TV about cryonics.
Maybe next time they will air your full interview and not the silly Austin Powers scene about cryonics. :)

Ok, if you want to share 'Freeze Yourself into the Future' the best way I've found is to send a link to the ABC news site, and have them type the name of the show into their search field. ;)

She just looks her age, actually a bit better I think. She moves well, and although she was a perfectionist trying to keep track of all her employees and assistants, and kinda irritated about stuff not going 'perfectly'-- she still enjoyed hugging my children and said that was the best part of her day ;).

Thnx, I've seen the show ;)

I think, the cryonics part was too short.
The stem cell part was very interesting. it gives a lot of possibilities to cure people. ( this part was too short, too)
The rest of the show shows this: enjoy your life en LIVE :-)

For those with real player you can use the download manager to 'download' that program from the myspace tv site. Might be worth it in case it gets taken down.

The only thing about this particular documentary was that it was quite fast paced, never really looked at anything in particular in much detail, interviews were really short, topics were changing all the time.

I think there are better ones out there. But Still gave a nice overview of various things relating to life extension.

Yeah, the life extension part was good but too short (and Shannon was Grrrreat!!) but the rest of it kind of bummed me out. They showed the small fraction of elderly people who have managed to dodge all the various bullets like stroke, serious arthritis, deafness, blindness, senility etc. etc. that make being very old not so much fun for a great many elderly people. I'm just not sure what the point of that part was. Maybe they were trying to say "see, being really old doesn't have to suck. Just click your heels three times and say 'I will not have a stroke'..."

Paul Newman told Walters that he gave up acting because he can't memorize his lines any more. That says something about his cognitive decline.

Hah, Live Forever took my post 'or gal' ;)

Great that they are up, I still like the extended version 'Freezing Yourself Into the Future' more for obvious reasons :) (It has at least 20 seconds more of our family than the other two video mixes I've seen)

Sad about Paul Newman's mentioning that, I'd missed that line. There is a lot of 'rah rah' in the special, it was like a big commercial with about the same amount of depth. It was nice to have a commercial for our movement, although I doubt the ratings were as high as some of the other things in the news, and on our culture's mind right now.

It is to be hoped the commonality between the above quotes is simply accidental. ;)
