Yep, I've been working on getting red of my acne and really just making my skin better this is the regimen I had somewhat in mind.

Morning

Facial scrub and cleansing
1h Aspirin Mask
2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide Time-release lotion

Afternoon
30min Aspirin mask
Hydroquinone

Before bed
Some good moisturizer, any recommendations here?
Retinol formula
Differin

Would this work well against fighting acne? And what about the dangers of Hydroquinone, how dangerous is it really versus it's therapeutic effects?

First of all, I would like to tell you that your regime is quite time consuming.
And it can be very drying for your skin.

I would rather recommend:

AM
Azaleic Acid 20% (RX only) thin layer
Antioxidant moisturizer (Clinique: Continous Rescue Antioxidant Moisturizer with EUKARION-134. for oily skin) thin layer for moisture.
High SPF sunscreen preferably with Mexoryl SX+XL or Tinosorb S+M

http://www.imminst.o...ous-t20235.html

http://www.imminst.o...-2h-t20357.html

PM
Differin 3% concentration (RX only)
Moisturizer (Clinique: Continous Rescue Antioxidant Moisturizer with EUKARION-134. for oily skin)

Hydrocinine can make permanent pigment changes in your skin. It can damage your skin in sunlight. And it is a poison for your skin cells (it is now banned in the EU!) It does not have any effect on acne (only on pigmentation).

Any toothpaste actually works really good since it has a drying effect on the skin.Cheap and simple too...Benzoyl peroxide is way to strong to use regularly...

However the most important thing when thinking about acne is your diet,Many people get acne resulting from some kind of food although there are no food that has been directly correlated with acne....

A lot of people on the acne forums are taking Diindolylmethane, and some say it appears to help

nah, nothing, definitely, nothing is too strong, it all depends on your individual skin and how long you take time to get used to.
A healthy diet should be a staple anyway.

Eva you mean 0,3% Differin I guess?
Anyway a retinoid should be included, though, adapalene/differin is one of the weaker ones imo.
Apart from that you could use a topical antibiotic w/ a retinoid/bpo applied simultaneously for 4-12 weeks.
If you have difficulties getting perscription topicals use ~5% teatrea oil...

One could consider systemic (not w/o risks though):
30-100mg zinc, 5g+ EPA/DHA
low dose ROA 10-20mg

Anything from L'Oreal group sold in the EU or anything from Nivea sold in the EU.

Besides, if your acne is so sever I would defenetely go to see a dermatologist instead of having advise on the internet from people who cannot even have a close look at your skin.

Antibiotics and Retin-A (tretinoin) is too strong for you to use especially if you are young and have not tried Differin wether it could help you.

benzoyl Peroxide is a strong oxidiser while Azaleic Acid (20%) is an antioxidant in itself with inflamatory properties and has excellent effect on blaskheads.

Alright, what sunscreen do you recommend based on this?

I would not consider my acne severe, I have certain areas where there are alot of inflammed acne outbursts, I live in Sweden so if I can order sunscreens from other EU countries I won't have to pay any custom duties.

Problem for me right now has been that when I have been using benzoyl peroxide daily, I have got real dry skin around my eyes, I try to avoid that area but it seems like the benzoyl peroxide still makes enough contact with the skin there. I have got some odd red irritated spot around my right eye area. Since a couple of months back I've got a prescription for Differin I haven't actually just went out and picked it up though. I think I will begin with, a good sunscreen, the antioxidant moisturizer, skinoren(generic azelaic acid) and Differin as you suggested.

If you know any EU retailer of the antioxidant moisturizer you were speaking of then please do PM me.

If you have a good dermatalogist definitely visit him, for self treatment, if necessary, one can find plenty of helpful information on: www.acne.org

Personally I don't think that topical antibiotics have any of the side-effects of systemic intake.
If you want to get rid of your acne and other topicals don't help, antibiotics are the way to go. You know acne scarring never goes away if it is severe enough to eventually cause scars...
Combining those two is imho state of the art treatment.

I have brown uneven spots at some parts of my face where I previously have had acne, are these scars?

It may be some kind of typical red marks (not a scar):

what type of acne do you have? is your skin dry, oily, normal? are your pores congested?

acne treatment varies depending on what type of acne it is

check out the acne.org forums and give them a read through
