There are some active people over a hundred. It could be a false age, but he is still quite old and quite inspiring none-the-less :p

It's great to see people of advanced age that can still do the things that younger people can do, and even if the guy was twenty years younger (92) it would be impressive. I suspect it's BS though. I seriously doubt the guy is really 112.

Another somewhat fishy part of the story, is the fact that the guy was diagnosed with Schizophrenia over 50 years ago and yet A. is still alive and B. still has the ability to creatively express himself in a translatable way. Anyone who has seen brain scans of Schizophrenics in various stages knows that it is not kind on the mind and as a result the body. I know a schizophrenic who looks ten years older then her 5 year older sister.

The life expectancy of someone with Schizophrenia is over 10 years shorter than the average life expectancy. So the average Schizophrenic would be likely not to live past 68.

He is 93, not 112, years old....

On July 15, 2008, our Senior GRG Investigator from Portugal, Sr. Filipe Prista-Lucas, reported that his investigation, along with information obtained from Mr. Louis Epstein of New York, led him to conclude that Frank Calloway was just 93 years old and not 112!

Birmingham News

Based on the information available in this report sent to Mr. Louis Epstein (Frank Calloway, born in Montgomery County, the Son of Sam and Estelle Calloway), I believe I was able to find the relevant US Census matches for him as follows:

Home in 1930: Kendall, Montgomery, Alabama
Head: Sam Calloway 50 (1st married in 1904)
Wife (probably 3rd): Mary Calloway 32 (1st married at 1926)
Son: Floyd Calloway 14
Son: Frank Calloway 13
Son: Oliver Calloway 11
Daughter: Flora M Calloway 2

Home in 1920: Snowdown, Montgomery, Alabama
Head: Sam Callaway 49
Wife (probably 2nd): Estelle Callaway 29
Son: Floyd Callaway 6
Son: Frank Callaway 4
Son: Oliver Callaway 2
Daughter: Mary Callaway 11

Based on the oldest available record (1920), I would therefore say Mr. Frank Calloway is only 93 years old today, having been born in July 1915. In order to complete this case, I copy-and- pasted older matches for his family as follows:

Home in 1910: Snowdown, Montgomery, Alabama
Head: Sam Callaway 30
Wife (probably 1st): Narcis Callaway 24

Home in 1880: Walkers, Montgomery, Alabama
Head: Ned Calloway 40 Wife: Manurva Calloway 38 Son: Sam Calloway 4
Stepdaughter: Ella Aiken 21
Stepdaghter: Bama Aiken 15
Stepson: Lawrence Aiken 12
