Shortcutted all. You guys don't have any problems with spyware or downloading a song and getting the old computer infected?

I'm running linux so i don't worry about it too much. Stick to mp3 files and you should be fine, if it tells you that you need their special codec, just look for a different file as the spyware/adware companies love to install via codec.

OK, no codex and mp3 files are safe. Can't spyware/adware come in on any downloaded file?

I don't worry about
I don't have mac, does that make me more vulnerable?

thefirstimmortal: Don't worry about the Mac/PC debate. You're safe. 200-GB later and I've never had a virus or security issue.

(snip)

I need a copy of a music piece "The Siege of Camlayied". Could someone find a copy of that piece?

Here ya go

OK, I'm getting this downloading off of limewire down pat. Now, how did you get the music to the link? I want to liven up some of my posts. Sometimes pics just are not enough to get a message or relay a feeling or thought, sometimes nothing says it like a song ;)

Well, assuming you have the rights to post a song, you would need to upload it to a website like fileshack.com. However, sites like imeem.com have a good deal of songs available for free streaming. As a libertarian, you presumably believe property rights to be sacred and thus would have to be very careful when using software like LimeWire and only download songs that are public domain or explicitly permitted to be shared by the artist. I believe Fair Use would allow you to post clips of less than 30 seconds for non-commercial purposes, but don't quote me on that.

Personally, I recommend, wherever possible, limiting consumption of products which are tied to intellectual property, including music, software, pharmaceuticals, genetic engineered crops, and so forth. Instead, seek free and open source alternatives. Creative Commons has lots of open source music and music under permissive licenses. http://www.creativecommons.org

Granted, biotech doesnt have many non-patented alternatives, just regular ole crops. However, there are initiatives to get alternatives going such as http://www.freedomofscience.org

POSTED UNDER THREAT OF CENSORSHIP

Yes progressive, I do believe property rights to be sacred. Up until now the thought hadn’t even crossed my mind, all this data seems so freely shared over the net, all seemingly legally and lawfully. Fair Use, or my understanding from prior legal research encompasses more than just a limitation on material, and under certain circumstances and conditions a whole piece or writing can be used. I don’t recall right off hand, but I know I have a file somewhere on the subject. And should time permit, not only will I review that file, I also had several books I wanted to read on the subject.

I’ll check that out sometime after I check out this whole You Tube thing.

Curcumin w/ piperine?

Curcumin inhibits the Notch Pathway
Resveratrol inhibits the Wnt Patwahy & BCL-2

The very quick answer to you on this one Hedgehog, is that curcumin was part of the very short list of items that I was taking to combat the cancer. This made the first cut and was part of the first succesful effort.

I just came across this product Boswellin® with Curcumin Extract - 120 Caps....which seems to have three substances we've been disussing... It's only $9.00.

Serving Size: 1 capsule
Servings Per Container: 120
Boswellia®; (Boswellia serrata) (resin) 250 mg *
Extract of gum resins Standardized to contain 65% (162 mg) Boswellin Acids
Curcumin Extract (Curcuma longa) (root) 100 mg *
(min 90%) Standardized extract of tumeric root powder
Turmeric Root Powder 150 mg
*
* Percent Daily Values are based on 2,000 calorie diet.
† Daily Value not established.

and wccaguy would be happy to see you take Boswellia. Maybe he could suggest an effective dosage.

Just some input on D3. My D3 was low and I took Vitamin Shoppe, Natures Bounty, LEF, Jarrows and Solgar. Some were gelcaps, some were tablets and some were capsules. My levels responded to all of the above. The gelcaps could possibly be a little better and it might be a good idea to supply them from now on, but please don't throw the capsules or tablets away.

Hi TFI,

This thread is very long and I don't know if the following was mentioned before.

Have you researched Dichloroacetate (DCA) ? It was discovered by two
Canadians
Dr. Archer and Dr. Michelakis from the University of Alberta, Canada. You
can find more information of about them and their research on its use for cancer
treatment here:

http://www.depmed.ualberta.ca/dca/

It is known that mitochondria in most cancerous cells are not active. This
compound works by reactivating the mitochondria in cancer cell. That on its
turn causes apoptosis of the cancer cells while leaving healthy cells
healthy.

The above statement is backed up by the following clinical study.
http://www.med.ualbe...s/BonnetPub.pdf

The above study by the University of Alberta was done in vivo using rats
that had human tumors implanted subcutaneously. His finding were presented
on numerous news channels. Here is a video of one of them.

http://video.google.... ...emb=0&aq=f#

He has now started a human trial with DCA. You can find information of this
Human trial on his website. again...
http://www.depmed.ualberta.ca/dca/

I also want you to know that there are 2 clinics in the world who uses DCA
as a cancer treatment even though the human trials have not been finished.
These two clinics are:

The Medicor Cancer Centres in Toronto
http://www.medicorcancer.com/
and the The Chipsa Clinic in Mexico
http://www.chipsa.com/

The Medicor Cancer Centres have their protocol online so yo may get an
impression on dossage and potential side effects. They report a succes rate
of about 60 to 70 %.

If you look at the Medicor site you will see that in some cases in addition
to DCA they also us copper depleting drug in combination with a copper
deficient diet. The idea is to stop the growth of new blood vessels that feed the tumor.
The copper deficiency has to be monitored of course.

DCA has been known to have some mild side effects in a minority of patients
and they include a change in gait and some nerve problems, but both of
these symptoms appear to be reversible upon cessation of DCA. But it is
something that has to be monitored.

DCA is readily available and can be ordered online. At the
http://www.thedcasite.com/
site that tries to inform people on DCA a dose of 10 to 13 mg/kg of body
weight is suggested together with some caffeine and vitamin B1. Note that
Medicor uses a higher dose. A recent study have shown caffeine to enhance
the effect of DCA. The B1 is to fight the B1 depletion of Cafeine.

Regards and get well soon.

I just got off the phone with Bill (TheFirstImmortal) at the hospital...

TheFirstImmortals prognosis is very bad, hospice for pain management is now a hard decision that will be done soon. He has mentioned that he wanted folks to please consider a donation for Cryonics now before things spiral down quickly. He has survived way past his doctor's estimate of life, but the cancer and other complications are taking a toll and his doctor is telling him to get on hospice care almost daily now. Personally, I have worked at Vitas Hospice and I have to say that as soon as folks get on Hospice care, things usually spiral down quickly for a patient. I understand his reluctance regarding this type of care because of what I have seen. But it appears he maybe making the decision soon.

So I need to consider a donation to his cryonics fund now. Bill's Cryonics paypal account that elrond setup for this is:

orights.cancer.cryonics.fund@gmail.com

I found the paypal donation email from this information link below that has updates on the cryonics aspect.
http://www.imminst.o...o...d=280342

If you haven't donated yet, please consider donating at least a few dollars or more with me today.

thank you
Anthony Loera

Hi Anthony,
I spoke to him since, and he made the decision not to go into hospice. He will be going home Monday if they don't do the MRI.
The issue seems to be that he would need to go under anesthesia in order to be able to lay down for the scan and they are telling him that he is on too much pain medication to have anesthesia which seems to be an excuse, since they could factor that into the amount of anesthesia they would give him.
The bottom line is Kirk doesn't want him to have an MRI. He only would okay a catscan, since he owns his own cat scan machine. Kirk is basically telling him to do a cat scan and chemo or go into hospice. I encouraged him to agree to the chemo and get the cat scan done so they can see what's going on and try radiation - which of course Kirk isn't encouraging either since he is in the chemo business. Bill would do chemo if he could compliment it with other protocols like vitamin IV's. Of course Kirk refuses any to be permitted. The only nutritional IV he will permit is glucose. He seems to have taken a very hard line on this.
This is a real tragedy. Bill has the arsenal but he needs a medical partner to help administer it. He does not want to give up and he shouldn't. He basically just needs a medical technician or nurse to assist, but where he lives, finding one appears impossible. That is why he is reaching out to the Imminst community to help find somebody who can. Please don't give up on Bill. He hasn't given up. He's in a catch 22 with the pain..but he said that he can now swallow
liquids on a limited basis and where there's a will there's a way and where there's life there's hope.
He will probably opt for the chemo since hospice is not something he is ready for...not by any means, but it would help if he could take complimentary supps to enhance and protect him from further damage to his GI tract. That was the big problem the last time. Not being able to hold down food. Once again, he can be reached at 207 662 3743, for anyone who might be able to help or offer advice.
I just reviewed this post with Bill, and it meets with his approval.

If Bill has a laptop with speakers and a mic, you could
talk to him vide Yahoo Messenger or any of the other
chat engines with voice channels - Paltalk, ICQ, Camfrog, etc.

Most also supports webcams, though for ICQ 6, both parties
must have webcams for it to be work.

Skype is supposed to be the clearest and most stable
for phone calls, though I think you have to subscribe
at 2 cents a minute.

Eat a bag of vegetables and berries per day. Many of them have anti-cancer compounds.
