Anybody persuing full robot integration as a path to true human-level AI is unlikely to be the first to get there. The whole baggage of physical embodiment is just a distraction.

These are like big AI facades. There isn't ever going to be any real intelligence in there.

What about talking?

Aiko is the name of one of my favourite japaneese singers.


The Android Aiko can speak, but her voice sounds more mechanical than the Japanese and English android (Jules). She also looks more robotic, since her mouth does not move like the Japanese androids:

Anyway, here's another Japanese android being asked questions in English. Although, from the video we see it still needs improvement since the android does not understand some of the questions.





They may not seem like much to you Singularity guys but I find them fascinating. I’m more interested in having androids that could do housework for us or take care of elderly, children or have conversations with, not some intelligent being that could one day surpass us. I don’t support this merging of machine and man, I want to live a very long time but as human.
