Where can I purchase Modafinil? Seems to be effective in cognitive enhancements. Are there any negatives I should be aware about? I was thinking about taking Modafinil with piracetam.

Can I purchase this online, or am I going to have to fake a disorder at the doctors in order to get a prescription?

In the US it should be easy, just do a google search, apparently it can even be purchased online. On fucking brazil, on the other hand, it hasn't even been approved yet. I will really need it in a month but won't be able to get it.

*rant over*.

I'm taking adrafinil instead since it's so much cheaper and easier to get.

I tried Adrafinil about 2 years ago and was not impressed. Yes, it kept me up, but found it counter-productive in regards to cognitive benefits. It feel like being awake, but buzzed on alcohol. It did not help my concentration. Some tell me that Adrafinil and Modafinil have the same effect with Adrafinil just being harder on the liver. Others say they are completely different. I heard that Adrafinil gets converted to Modafinil in the liver.

So I dont know alot about this stuff, but Ive been experimenting with b vitamins, and they seem to be working wonders for energy and alertness.

I also hear all this hype about omega 3 and resveratrol. So Im thinking about ordering a mix with a good dose of a b complex, omega 3, resveratrol and a general multi vitamin mix thrown in there.

Should I add modanafil? Why mess with stuff that you say just gives you more like a buzz when you could just use b vitamins?

Im probably also going to throw in sodium and potasium, essentials in neural activity right?

and then try some straight L phenylalanine or however it is spelled, tyrosine and folic acid before deciding on them. These are all ingredients I find in 5 hour engergy, and 5 hour energy works great so I want to investigate.

However if that mix costs like 10 dollars a pill then Ill be redoing that.

You should do a little more research before taking things like modafinil. However, omega 3s can be nothing but beneficial, so you can go grab some of that. Also, add things one at a time so you can isolate the effects each.

Should I be worried about my liver if I am taking adrafinil?

With any prescription drug, you should do research...however, Modafinil really looks pretty safe compared to other prescription cognitive enhancement drugs. From what I have heard...short-term, adrafinil is probably fine, but if you like it, look at switching to modafinil.

This thread should probably be moved to the suppliers and research subsection. How about airsealed? Modalert for $19+S/H on sale? Anyone used these guys?

Yeah, I'm curious about Airsealed also. If anyone has ordered from them, I'd love to hear some opinions.

I bought that $19 modalert deal from airsealed. Passed customs fine and made it to my mailbox in exactly 2 weeks. Shipped from India.

I can now reply to this post after having been to my doctor yesterday to find out.

Yes, I did have a problem getting a prescription. The dr. looked up the med. in his book to see its potential side effects. The list was pretty ghastly so he was unwilling to prescribe it and suggested I have some strong tea instead.

What book did the dr. look up in? Ghastly list? some possible side effects of modafinil are basically headache and nausea. that dr is not well-informed. modafinil's safer than caffiene.

I'm leaning toward Strong tea, strong coffee, nad energy drink b/c they're cheaper than moda, no hassle, and readily available.

"that dr is not well-informed"

Well there's an oxymoron

Problem with strong tea, coffee, and energy drink is that tolerance builds up. Caffeine is great for the first few days, then you need it just to perform as well as you had been without it.

Hi! I live in the USA, and it's been awfully hard for me to get Modafinil (called Provigil in the States.)
Whenever I complain about lethargy and drowsiness and ask for it, my general practitioners act like I had just asked them to prescribe me pot or cocaine! It's bizarre! :( I even asked a psychiatrist for a script for it, and he made the nastiest face I've seen on a face since I visited the ape cages at the zoo.
I'd order it online in a heartbeat, but I just have no clue which suppliers can be depended upon for 100% contaminant-free product. I've seen too many episodes of "House, M.D." to go popping internet-pills willy-nilly. :(

I just went to the doctor yesterday in attempt to get a Modifinil prescription. I had exactly the same experience as you. The doctor didn't even know what Modafinil was so he looked it up, then immediately told me that he could never prescribe it to me (also as if I was asking for meth or cocaine).

I can't believe it...

Ritalin does not work very well for me. It gives me anxiety and I feel edgy.

I currently use Dextroamphetamine during exams. It is expensive since I buy illegally of other people with prescriptions and also hard to get. The effects of dextroamphetamine are much smoother, I find it really easy to study. It works amazingly well...

The problem is I don't want a D-Amphetamine prescription as it would be less healthy in the long run. Modafinil seems to be the healthiest option. I can't believe my doctor made up his mind to be so against it within 5 seconds of skim-reading its description!

Ohwell I will try another doctor this week and see how that goes... :(

I asked my doc yesterday and he referred me to a sleep specialist. The sleep specialist will want to diagnose the problem so I am looking at around $1-2k for the sleep study.

Does it really cost that much for sleep study? 1 to 2 thousand dollars? does any insurance cover it? i'm thinking about checking with a sleep specialist too.

Without someone having gotten a COA, I'm not ordering anything from anyplace. But if you've gotten one, do post and let us know the results, re: modafinil.
