Pike:
What dose of Deprenyl do you take/recommend for ADHD?
Does anyone know the dosing at which deprenyl would become harmful to ones health or lifespan?
What an interesting thread.
One question I never see answered about Deprenyl is the impact it has on the long term. I have read some scary accounts of people taking this stuff and then months down the line it ceases to work or tolerance rapidly progresses. Surely this is the case with any drug you take though as after a while your body will compensate for anything that is in excess. I am yet to take something continuously that doesn't at least loose some effectiveness over time. It would concern me more with Deprenyl as its a irreversible MAOI which would mean weeks of apathy, joyless depression followed by a period where your body adjusts to becoming normal again. By which stage you're back to square one but probably still feel worse because you remember how good life was on Deprenyl. So you then search for something else and the endless journey for the perfect fix continues.
I can site a previous user known as da_sense who had amazing success with Deprenyl but months down the line he encountered what I've described above but on a heavy scale which didn't sound pleasant in the slightest. You can find his posts in the search section.
Maybe I'm talking bull. I would be delighted to ACTUALLY hear from people who are long term users who have success/or not. They never seem to show their faces. Speak up!
The reason I am interested is because the benefits do sound pretty amazing. I am currently taking Memantine which is showing great promise and once this has settled I am considering Bupripion or Deprenyl.
I suffer with GAD and lingering apathetic depression issues. I feel I'm about 80% there at the moment with the things I have found on here but motivation is the final scalp I want to nail. Memantine has had quite a stimulating effect on me so far so has given me an insight into what I can be (if I fix this issue).
