From Professor Pande's Folding@Home Blog

FAH_Alzheimers.jpg

This is exciting in many ways. It's been a long road for FAH to get to this point...

It appears that investigating Abeta or related proteins has revealed mechanisms that can be modified by small-molecule drugs.

...we may have multiple small molecules which appear to inhibit toxicity of Abeta..

The Folding@Home project was initiated in October, 2000, since then:

The F@H research team has published 60 scientific papers and currently has several others in peer review.
