That's my biggest hope with Obama. Bush really suppressed the scientific and research community.

I guess I'm thrown off because the oath is kind of, like, the main event. It's what actually makes the guy president. His speech was fluent, all this time he's done an excellent job engaging the public, and yet when he actually was accepting the yoke of the Presidency something went awry. I'm not sure how much I read into it, it was also Roberts (Bush's appointee, mind you) that was awkward.
