Is it a coincidence everyone else is smiling in that picture and you're not? Smiling is bad for looking young.

I really find it humorous that so many of you young guys think some of these celebrities look older than what the average person their age looks.

I am the one that commented on it, and I am 50. But I agree with you broader point... it is easier to judge the age of people in your immediate age group. When people on this board say something like; "My friend Betty is 28 but looks 22", I just think, so what?, everyone in their 20s looks the same age to me. Don't remember or know the answers to your other questions. But I am sure they are obtainable if you do a google picture search on Leo, that photo pair is one of the first that pops up. A few months ago it was posted on another forum that I read occasionally, and the large consensus was that he hadn't aged well, and he looked older than 35. And it isn't fair to compare a hollywood actor to the general population, I think a 35 year old high profile actor should look like a 30 year old general poulation type, but getting off on a tangent.

Me a few days before turning 42

Nice hair! But imo not enough pixels to comment on how old you look.

Just for the record, never gauge how you look to people by asking them. Instead, take a photo of yourself, give it to a friend, and get THEM to ask how old the man in the picture looks. People will adjust for being afraid of going too high, and possibly other reasons. A woman at my old school asked me how old she was. She looked 50, I said 45, and she was 40.

yea, some, probably most, people will intentionally underestimate your age either because they don't want to offend you, or because they want to bond with you. On the other hand some people will intentionally overestimate your age just to tick you off. and...general rule of thumb, if you have to continually ask people how old you look, you don't look that young.

It's nice to hear that you're dating an older woman. Usually it's the reverse situation, with a younger woman dating an older guy, as is the case with me and my girlfriend (me-26, she-22). You should show us a picture of this ultra-young looking girlfriend of yours.

I keep reading these threads about which diet keeps you looking younger and it is strange. I guess I just do not get the point. How many of you are actually good judges of age and how do you know? Personally, I find it very hard to estimate a persons age. I understand it is important as a visual indicator of a person's health and fitness, but the phenotype is more complex than that and so are the lifes people lead. I look much older than my age. Mostly because I routinely keep facial hair and I think most people associate beards with age. When I shave my wife says I look my age, but I think I still look older. I grew up working on a farm in an age before sunscreen wasn't considered important. I spent most most of my summers sunburned. It wasn't until a few years ago I ever started wearing it and I have always been an outdoors person. I have the skin damage to prove it. I am actually proud that I look a bit older than my age. I like looking "experienced." But based one these (low-resolution and not usually close up) pictures how can you even say it is the diet that makes the difference; plastic surgery, botox, skin treatments, genetics, lifestyle, hair coloring, hair style, clothing, lighting, makeup...all can make dramatic changes in the way a person looks. Not sure where I was going with this, but thought I would add it.

Post pics of you and your gf :3 Nice to hear some people don't care about the stupid conventional way of doing things, my old gf was 1 year older than me I was 16 she was 17(I'm 17 now). In fact actually every girl I've ever been on a date with was older than me whether it be by a month or a year. How did you get a chick that was 8 years older than you btw?
Matt when I'm your age I'm going to be just like you and be with a much older woman that looks in her early 20's. The problem is I'm only 17 and I already look 10 years older than you  (seriously, I'm not being funny or anything), is it your good looks that attract the older ladies?

EDIT: I didn't notice the other people requesting you post a pic of your gf so I'm not chiming in with crown or anything :)

I can confirm, she looks way younger than her age. I would say about 10 years younger.

Hi, first post though I've lurked for a while on these forums.

I don't think vegetarians looks younger than Paleo/ low carb people or those who are omnivores for that matter. I eat pretty low carbs and I do eat seafood, animal protein with tendons, connective tissues etc.., but I also eat lots of sea vegetables, and drink copious amounts of matcha/ white tea with lemon juice. I pretty much follow the diet of my grandfather who is 100 this year, and also my grandmother who died at age 95. Anyways I think I look pretty good for my age (my profile pic is what I look like this week), so I'm going to continue on my current regimen. I'm basing my diet on both vanity and health, as I'm a big skincare freak-- I'm into skincare but don't wear makeup except for eyeliner and lipstick, but I'm also concerned about Cancer since my mother died from Lymphoma at pretty young age.

I know i'm not supposed to ask a lady her age, but I'm curious how old you are? I've also been following a paleo diet for quite a few years and I've been told I look young for my age.

You DO look really good for your age, which is why you have to go vegan now.
Trust me on this. If you make the transition now, you will preserve that look for decades and will be fully positioned to take advantage of any indefinite life expansion advances if they come along in the mid 21st century.
But, a paleo diet will not allow this. The slow accumulation of toxins and damage from digesting and utilizing cooked meat will begin to wear you down.
You are still well within the timeline for change, so you dont have to transition tomorrow, but perhaps within a year or two.

"Trust me on this" -- LOL. Maybe if he *had* been vegan all his life, he wouldn't look so young in the first place. Ever thought of that?

That is positively and in all other ways inconceivable! :)
BTW, I went vegan at 25.

Me a few days before turning 42, with my entourage, who range from 18-31 in age:

Posted Image
None of them is a GF, just cool kats. Guess Im kind of like a magnet for fag-hags, since just about everyone thinks i am half a fag anyway, though I am not really, though I find many guys very attractive and am completely open to anything and everything. [Was freezing night: wearing 2 shirts under that sweater, so it makes me look like pushing maximum density, but am not]
BTW: VEGAN
[used to be paulthekind, if anyone recognizes- posted a bunch of pics in 2008 just before 40. announced change to brafarality in a post, but not sure if anyone saw it]
Nuff for now. Cheers.

Hard to tell how old you look, if you don't tell us which of these women you are. The two on the very left look 40ish in my opinion. But if you belong to the others than you really look young for 42. But are you sure that veganism is your secret or rather sun avoidance??

I doubt that letos young looks have much to do with sun avoidance. He is often shown walking in the sun without wearing a hat. He also often sports facial hair which makes it difficult to apply sunscreen (or any skin creams for that matter)...

There is a health food store near where I live in Sedona AZ. The town is filled with old hippies and vegetarians. I always felt that the people in the healthy food store looked pretty awful overall. Maybe because they don't believe in hair dye and makeup.
I think being protein deficient over time ages you, at least in terms of glycation and collagen synthesis. They may live longer, who knows....

Since people tend to gain weight during aging judging the skinniness of people is a big part of age estimation. I think this partially explains why people on CR can seem so young.

Yes! Thanks. Didnt mean to click on your profile just now (not that I have anything against it or anything, just that I almost never do it), but went to click on Post link from update message and hit profile link instead. And, someone earlier said something like, 'all of these girls are young looking except the one on the left' or similar...wait, it's in quotes in this actual post! That means the photo is definitely misleading since I definitely dont look woman-like in real life despite the long hair. Cheers!
