Here's an interesting development from Germany:

The new method for harvesting stem cells involves extracting cells from glandular tissue, multiplying them and then freezing them for storage. How significant is this, and is it really a full substitute for embryonic stem cells? Are these cells fully totipotent?

Wait and see, I think. We've heard this sort of thing before, but the stem cell types always turned out to be more or less as limited at the best of the others we know about.
