Mother's Day is a holiday honoring mothers, celebrated (on various days) in many places around the world. Mothers often receive gifts on this day.
People in different countries celebrate Mother's Day on different days of the year because the day has a number of different origins. One school of thought claims this day emerged from a custom of mother worship in ancient Greece. Mother worship — which kept a festival to Cybele, a great mother of gods and the wife of Cronus; was held around the Vernal Equinox around Asia Minor and eventually in Rome itself from the Ides of March (March 15 to March 18). The Romans also had another holiday, Matronalia, that was dedicated to Juno, though mothers were usually given gifts on this day.
so why don't you give some surprise to your mother

People who have a life don't need a national holiday to be nice to their parents, take a day off work, or do whatever else holidays are normally associated with. The desire to do those things can only come from an individual, and different individuals will experience those desires at different times and in different ways. Synchronizing everybody into a yearly cycle is a lame remnant of collectivist barbarism that would best be abandoned by a modern, free-thinking human being!

This spammer missed the boat - Mothers' Day was in March.

At least, it was in the UK (bearing in mind that this has been posted in the "UK and Ireland" forum.

Given the topic description of "n", I presume this was a bot anyway.

Bot, if you are viral and American... Happy Mothers' Day :|?

Mothers are the most important people on the planet ;)

Our mothers are very very important. However, women can still achieve important things without ever being a mother. I consider my mother one of the most important people on the planet, that's for sure. :)

If this was a bigger organisation, we could have perhaps had a "give extra years for Mother's Day" or something. we could have had some themed item that can be brought to support the cause along with a flashy pamphlet about who Longecity are and what they do. That would be cool for every major holiday, as people are always willing to spend more and will be looking for unique gifts.
