(NOTE: Updated the links to reduce the number of clicks to get to the point. The other pages aren't important except to people who are really into the back story).

This is a side project I was working on for a little while. It’s simply a Story though to be more precise it’s an Augmented Reality Story.

“The Grey Goof” is an account of Google becoming self aware and going through the process of ‘growing up’.

It also archives how humanity spent the precious few hours available to communicate with their creation
before it passed through an Intelligence Singularity and left them behind…

Congratulations to Goto10. The first Homo Sapiens Sapiens Digimergitalus.

(At least according to igoogleit)

Postscript and followup discussion on Shacknews. – Inside this thread I finally start opening up and filling in the blanks on how the story was created and progressed once it was running in real time with real people. The words and actions of the readers dictated the details and direction of the story more than anything else once it was “in the wild”. At no time was anybody else in on it, even Goto10 right through the very end when he was asked to terminate the bot igoogleit had personally made for him. I was shaping the story around Goto10 and his thoughts/desires without him quite realizing it. Revealing myself personally was part of laying the groundwork for another stage of the story I planned, but opted to not do. Without going into details… the role I was starting to play “as myself” was similar to Sean Penn from “The Game”. This included paranoid adding/removing credit for it on my Facebook and Linkedin, as well as this site… and some “crazy” emails to some of the active readers. Since the next stage never happened, I guess I just have to accept they probably assume I’m actually crazy, heh.

I retain no copyright on this.

Alrighty. I've gotten a good chunk of feedback and have continued to improve the presentation to make it easier to read and make sense of, as well as more streamlined and internally consistent.

To dive straight in and read cold turkey:

To get some back story to help when reading:
