Stemming from this vote: http://www.imminst.org/forum/topic/42062-vote-immortality-institute-billboard/page__st__20

I called Eric Peterson at Lamar billboards back, friday I think it was. I left a message. He'll either be calling me monday or Ill be calling him.

In the mean time Ive been searching for stats. If anybody can link to some more stat sources that show us traffic rankings, especially for unique visitors and new registrations then please do.

Ive found this but Im going to need some feedback on how functional for the purpose it is going to be.

Quantcast uses rough figures. The spikes are fairly clear, but I wish it was a bit clearer. This first graph is "people" per month. Im left wondering if that includes bots.

1.
"

The following two are the same two graphs, but by day.

1.
"

Here is by day for the last year.

1.
"

Estimated Monthly Traffic
Data US
Visits per Month 21,997
People per Month 17,013

Comparison To Prior Period
Period Region People Visits
Daily US 1 % 5 %
Weekly US 18 % 66 %
Monthly US 8 % 47 %

Data Source: United States

Current rank:
85,083

Ill have to dig and see how accurate quantcast is.

What about using another entry domainname such that we can track the usefullness of the billboard?

eg. imminst.com instead of imminst.org
or imminstbb.org (imminstbillboard.org)
It would register the caracteristics of the person (ip adress, navigator, etc) and then transmit the visitor to imminst.org. That would allow to count the number of people who visited imminst after having seen the billboard

Btw, do we have an existing list of such caracteristics for imminst visitors, to check that the ones going to imminstbb.org are not usual visitors of imminst?

I just saw this thread, and although the stat programs is nice, that immorality thing kind of bothered me a whole lot. Brokenportal, can you explain why he did that?

The billboard here went up this morning. I checked the google analytics and there is already a small spike. Stevens Point here leads the state in traffic being sent to Imminst. Ill be watching it. Its really great to see the cause spilling out from the internet again into the brick and mortar world to take more stands, here on two large poles in this instance.

We got a great non profit rate, so we got to use our status again. Most other forms of advertising, radio, newspaper, and tv are all usually about twice as much as a billboard, and Im not sure if they all even have non profit rates. Billboards are there in the open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The gross rating points on all the billboards around here expect high numbers. I see that google analytics is already showing that more people are coming here directly via "imminst.org". Most other towns dont have any direct traffic. I hope the media sees this. Sven recently had some good luck in that way with the media. Its all adding up.

Here is a graph of registrations showing the ups and downs since August. Stevens Point is currently on an upward, but not unusual rise. Attached File  billboard stats aug to jan.JPG   29.53KB   15 downloads

Here is the current state of registrations: Attached File  IMG_17012011_155014.png   30.61KB   15 downloads

I doubt that the billboard has caused this substantial spike in registrations. It may have. I think that is a reflection of an infestation of sock puppets. I have notified Sven, MaxWatt, and Victor about this.
