AOR is considering releasing a supplement through its line that is currently available through one of our suppliers. This supplement has already been shown to be highly safe. It is a minor constituent of some common foods, is Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) per FDA regulations, has already been the subject of animal safety and efficacy studies as well as uncontrolled human studies, is the subject of a forthcoming double-blind placebo-controlled trial for a specific health challenge, is already being consumed in ‘functional foods’ in Asian countries, and is now being launched for dietary supplements without restrictions worldwide.

In addition to its possible use for certain clinical conditions and health challenges, informal market research and anecdotal reports suggest that this supplement has beneficial effects on certain health parameters in healthy people as well. These unexpected results seem very promising and exciting, but are not scientifically rigorous. AOR and our supplier would like to test whether this effect is manifested in a group under blinded conditions.

The membership of the Immortality Institute is an especially good group of people from whom to get consumer feedback. Most of us
are more health-conscious than the norm, and many take or have tried veritable fistfulls supplements, making us tend to be more jaded and not to be as responsive to the placebo effect as the norm -- both factors likely to strengthen the magnitude of any real difference between the supplement and a placebo.

This research study is not conducted or supported by the Immortality Institute, and is in no way required or expected of the membership. The study is a venture undertaken entirely by AOR and our supplier, and is done as a one-on-one relationship with individual members.

Persons who choose to take part in this study will be asked to sign an informed consent form. When these documents are received, we will send participants at random either a bottle that will contain either tablets containing this supplement or one containing an inert placebo. Participants will be asked to take two tablets twice daily, and to record their experiences in a few sentences each day in journal format. At the end of the study, a more specific series of questions will be asked in written form.

While AOR and our supplier do not wish to disclose the supplement in question in order to avoid creating expectations in the minds of subjects, we do disclose that the ingredient is derived from a dairy source. Persons with allergies to any dairy products, or with ethical objections to the consumption of substances derived from dairy products, should not take part in this study.

Participation in this research study is entirely voluntary. There is no guarantee that you will receive any benefit from this study. You may choose either to take part or not to take part. If you decide to participate, you are free to withdraw your consent and to discontinue participation at any time. Every effort will be made to maintain the confidentiality of your study records. The data from the study may be published; however, you will not be identified by name. Your identity will remain confidential unless disclosure is required by law.

Contact us by emailing Tech@AOR.ca, with "Consumer Research Study" in the subject line.

To your health!

Yes, absolutely. We will want to know what supplements you're using, of course, but there is no reason to discontinue any supplements or nootropics to our knowledge.

To your health!
