Would L-Carnitine be a good choice for someone who is trying to lose weight? (in addition to exercising and eating a healthy diet).

If it is not so great, then what other supplements (besides HCL ephedra) are good to augment a weight loss program?

No. Carnitine will not help significantly with weight loss.

Diet and exercise are by far the most important things. Cutting downn on bad carbs i.e. sugar but also bread, rice, pasta, grains is a good start (not talking Atkins levels necessarily, just cut back). Everything else is a distant 3rd. Getting at least....3 grams of combined EPA/DHA will probably help.

Beyond that there are zillions of choices and I would not know where to begin. Post your question over at avant.
