My father in law asked me to find some information on nattokinase for him. Its use as a blood thinner in particular.

Does anyone have any good links about this protien?

Check out this fully-referenced article on Nattokinase from Advances magazine.

I have a relative who takes Plavix and Pletaal for blood thinning. I told him to take instead plain aspirin, just 75 mgs every other day.

You know why? Because aspirin is so economical and safe if you don't take too much and too often. Take some filler for your stomach lining before ingesting aspirin, like chew a piece of soda cracker.

Now this relative of mine, once started to have nosebleeds. I told him it could be from ingesting too much blood thin-ners like Plavix and Pletaal.

He sees his cardiologist once every three to four months, and pays the doctor for his professional fee as much as the equivalent of a week's salary -- no, he's not as financially liquid as I am.

I told him to use his intelligence and self knowledge in following the doctor's routine of medications. You see, this doctor is just like every doctor, a salesman of the drug companies and end retailers of drug sales representatives. You tell them about anything disturbing to your body or mind and they have a medicine for you, read that drug, for you. Never will they tell you about exercise, a change of environment, developing good spirits, or even, horror to atheists, religion.

This post is not a tip for anyone to follow my suggestion to my relative, but for clients of doctors to consider another perspective in their own health management and to take charge of themselves, even though for really emergency remedies to keep alive we still have to rely on doctors...
