Transhumanist Association to Transcend Financial Woes in New Year
By Simon Smith
Betterhumans Staff
[Thursday, December 12, 2002] The World Transhumanist Association has been promised regular funding from a UK charity, putting the organization in the new position of deciding how best to direct cash flow to achieve its goals.

To date, the WTA has relied entirely on membership dues -- $25 per year for employed people in developed countries, $10 per year for unemployed people, students, retired people or those living in less-developed countries.

This was sufficient for the activities it has run since its 1998 foundation, many of which were conducted online. But with growing interest in Transhumanism, a growing membership base and increasing ambitions, the WTA has begun seeking outside help to expand its promotion of radically improving human capacities through technology.
