There have been several long term studies to date the longest has been 7 years without any meaningful side effects.


 

Taking the clinically studied doses is nuts? As oppose to taking doses outside of the studies is sane? Your statement is ridiculous.

 

Actually, the maximum dosage as recommended by prescription here in Europe is 3 X 800mg per day, so 2,4 G a day.  So Prunk is right.

Yes, in my opinion it's nuts for healthy people. I've had my fare share of Piracetam side effects, and now I keep the dosage low - max 600mg per day, but usually around 100-300mg. There's simply not enough info about the long term effects, and MOA is still a bit unknown. Cortical myoclonus etc. is a totally different ball game, and we are not rats, rabbits or dogs.
