What kind of choline should I take?

What kind is best and why?

How much should I take?

When (what time of day, how often, with/not with food or other supplements) should I take it?

There is plenty of info in the Nootropics archives, wraith! I would start by reading old posts about AlphaGPC, CDP-Choline, Centrophenoxine(aka.Lucidril), and even the mythically bulky choline source...LECITHIN [:o]
This should help answer your last three questions pretty well. As for the first question...hmm, IMHO choline is choline, so go for the best quality you can afford, but you still need to define for us out here what you "need" it for if we're to help. ;)

Well, I have sifted though some of the archives. Perhaps I have missed some posts due to alternate spellings/abbreviations. I thought about lecithin, but since I seem to be extremely sensitive to inositol (makes me very drowsy) I'd like to avoid it. I like to take inositol, but only when I think I need it for anxiety. I went to GNC today (I go there now because I like the owner, but I think it's costing too much and I may have to become a disloyal customer), they had no phosphatidyl choline that wasn't paired with inositol. I think I'm down to alphaGPC or citicholine. I know alphaGPC has a reputation as a growth hormone releaser. Not sure if that is something I really want. I checked out a book called 'Brain Candy'; they give high ratings to citicholine.

I've had good experiences with Alpha-GPC, 600mg 2x daily. I don't get mentally fatigued as easily while on it and I stay more focused.

I haven't tried CDP-Choline, so I can't compare to it, but it is night and day between Alpha-GPC and Choline Bitrate for me.
