Apart from "compensation", it could bring potential troubles. With time there will be more restrictions affecting experimentation with nootropics, and this could potentially speed this process up. And I'm not even using my imagination now, there was similar research about use of illegal drugs analogs in young people, it brought fast restrictions.
IMHO don't do it.
And ban UQAM2012

I've been lurking around for a year or so and finally got around to sign up for a profile a couple weeks ago. I was waiting to have something relevant to say to make my first post as I'm fairly new to the whole Noot scene and my brain and/or chemical knowledge is quasi-inexistant. I need brighter and more educated people such as found in this community to crunch the info into digestible bits form my modest mind to process. I just had a few short stints on Methylene Blue, Prami, Ani, Piracetam and phosphatidylserine, all on their own for a couple days/weeks and I'm just starting to mix-and-match them.
But this thread struck home because I live in the Montreal area where UQAM university is. First off: Montreal is the extremely laid back queen city of the province of Quebec wich is the most progressive and tolerant province of Canada. And of all the Universities in Montreal, UQAM is considered the "Hippie" University (no offense meant UQAM2012).
Normally I would've told you guys to take a serious chill pill. But I looked into it a bit more and the study is funded by the Social Science and Humanities Research Council wich is a canadian government research fund. As of late, the (far)right-winged Conservatives now in power have been on the move to toughen things up here and are being pretty serious all around party poopers.
It's not a ridiculous stretch to think that such a study could potentially hurt the Community. Well at least those of us from the North. Many of wich, I've noticed, are quite proeminent contributors.
That was my grain of salt.

Nice try. You could be really not affiliated with UQAM, but don't believe this.singerdude

I’d first like to apologize for the delay of my answer, as I just came back from my vacation.
This research project is indeed funded by the Social Science and Humanities Research Council. So are the vast majority of the publicly financed projects across Canada in this area of research. Since the project has been approved by the Ethics Board of the University (you can find the certification on our website), we are bound by law to keep these interviews and their content 100% confidential.
We do not wish to morally judge Longecity members who use Nootropics. On the contrary, we wish to understand how those members help each other out by exchanging personal experiences and theoretical knowledge about pharmaceutical products in different online forums.
IMPORTANT: We are in NO way affiliated to pharmaceutical companies.
If you have questions, please email me here: research.assistant.uqam@gmail.com.
For confidentiality issues, please note that I will no longer respond to individual messages posted on this thread.
Thanks for your concern,
David
