Hey All:

BACKGROUND:
Newbie here. I am a 50 year old diabetic who control glucose levels via diet alone. I also have hypertention and am taking the medication exforge. My blood pressure runs about 140/89.

About a month ago, I started to walk/jogging for two miles every morning. I jog until my heart rate hits 130 then I walk briskly until my heart rate hits 120 at which time I jog again, repeating the cycle for 2 miles. My heart rate never falls below 120. After about a month of doing this, my blood pressure drops to just below normal about 117/78 consistantly.

ISSUE:
Last Friday (10/5) I purchased some GliSODin and began taking 250mg in the morning and 250mg in the evening. On sunday, my blood pressure started creeping up. Today it is 150/91. The only change in my diet and supplementation is (1) GliSODin, I started eating raw caocoa nibs and I started making/eating raw pomagranted juice daily.

QUESTION:
Is it possible/probable that GliSODin caused my bp to increase? How?

Thank you.

I take Glidsodin, and I have never seen that effect. Your regimen with pomegranate and cocoa, resembles LEF's endothelial defense. Cocoa increases nitric oxide which should lower BP. I have never read anything that would substantiate an increase in BP from an SOD/ wheat protein supplement.
Given your exercise program, maybe you should consider supplementing with minerals, ( magnesium / potassium )...blood pressure fluctuates, and the device your using to measure it matters too.

It's probably your consumption of raw caocoa nibs. I would discontinue them and see what your bp is at over the course of a few days. You may also want to check with your doctor.
