afraid this is anecdotal and not scientific but: based on following a few old people over 50 years. The oldest in 104 and comes from a line that has old (to 103) in it with many who died much younger.

1. Eating sweet potatoes as staple diet seems MAIN reason for longevity in some groups like the older Okanawans. They do other things including working hard and have support groups that de-stress. I quizzed a girl form there.

http://nutritiondata...products/2667/2

It has massive nutrient loads in it.
and Low glycemic index!!!

Main life extender apart from nutrients is lowering stress.

People who can shrug off stress naturally, live longer. Musicians or people who use music a lot...music seems to relax more than nerves but is theorized to reach and de-stress smaller into the cell.

TM and praying has been about for ages so I dont know what other stresses olden times had but they didn't have medicines.

Being mildly optimistic seems to help. I know stress and worry can reduce me to a wreck and consciously talk myself out of it.

A more comprehensive supplements regime has been drawn up my MC Price who ran Alcor UK for a while, he looks like his twin brother's son now:

I've watched the author carry out his philosophy and he looks in his 30's (he's 55).

But of AL the things I've studied including old gits in homes, the single best thing is sweet potato: its nutritious and it's cheap
