I'm 19 and I'm already starting to get white hairs. I have a 2 strands of pure white hair right on the edge of my hairline and I have several white hairs in my eyebrows. Also when I was younger my hair was as dark as brown could be not being black but now it's a lighter brown.
Is this an indicator I am going to die soon?

A friend of mine's hair began to grey at twelve. By the time she was 16, her hair was completely white. She's in here sixties, and quite healthy and active.

Unless there is some ultimately lethal condition causing the color change, it is probably unrelated to morbidity. If there were a serious condition, there would likely be other symptoms.

If it's an indicator of impending death, then I probably shouldn't be driving... I'd say that it's more an indicator of excessive worry. My mom's hair turned grey/white at an early age, and I seem to have inherited that gene.

If I remember... you're really into working out and eating lots and getting big, right?

I've noticed anecdotally that some younger people who go overboard with bodybuilding and protein intake, while they get big, over time exhibit some signs of premature aging IE greying and hair loss. I believe that this may be related to depleting the pool of stem cells and causing the balance to differentiate too quickly before self-renewal can happen. The chinese system calls this 'depleting the jing'. Just a wild guess. Something I've been mulling over.

Better go get a shovel and start digging yerself a hole lad... :-D

Seriously, I started to get the occasional grey/white hair at around 19 too, I am 47 now and have maybe 2% to 5% white hair and it has very gradually been increasing. I expect that by the time I'm 90, Ill be all white haired.

I don't think that the correlation of hair colour change with age is entirely accurate. I would probably look more to skin and general health first.

I've always been told it's good luck to pull them out. When i was 20, every now and then I'd find a few strand of white hairs, but it hasn't really turned into much. I honestly think you might end up creating a self-fulfilled prophecy if you start stressing and worrying about 2 strands you've found. After all, stress is arguably the #1 aging factor.

You may have a copper deficiency or toxicity. Both have been known to cause grey hairs and hair loss. Best bet if you really want to get your hair color back is to get a hair mineral analysis done and if anything is off or out of whack fix it and see the results. Most people either deny or ignore the fact they may be deficient in a certain mineral or minerals and it'll lead to a shit ton of problems. Its amazing how many diseases are caused by nutrient deficiencies and people are always looking for a cure without looking to fix what's actually causing the problem. Humans are designed to heal. Give your body what it needs and you'll be amazed at what it can do.

Perhaps it's a deficiency. Try looking into what vitamin/mineral/etc deficiencies can cause this problem. Perhaps Acetyl L-Carnitine and B-vitamins will help?

im 35 and never had a grey hair in my life, my hair decided to skip the graying process and just start jumping ship from around my late teens..

is it proven that worry or stress causes grey hair?

My little dog has hyperplasia of the liver. That is why he has severely stunted growth and most likely why all of his black hair is turning white at just the age of two. He is malnourished because his liver cannot properly process vital nutrients.

This is at least according to a veterinarian liver specialist at the animal hospital my primary vet told me to see.

So obviously my first worry would be some sort of deficiency like previously mentioned. I have never had a single white hair and I am 25.
