I did a quick search but couldn't find any active discussions. So what do you guys think about the philosophy? Also, antinatalism is closely associated with another philosophy of efilism propounded by people like inmendham on youtube (http://www.youtube.c...eature=g-high-u)

I consider myself both a transhumanist an an antinatalist. My antianatlist perspective can be read from my blog (i have one for transhumanism and one for antinatalism):

With that being said, I am a big supporter of the Zeitgesit movement and every other transhumanist idea. However, transhumanism will still not solve the fundamental quandaries of existence such as the imposition, lack of global meaning and overall futility.

hi dimasok,

antinatlism seems like suicide to me, which is impossible if Quantum Archaeology is correct. You would always get resurrected by future beings doing simulations of the past.

Also every possible event is thought by some determinist schools (eg Many Worlds Theory) to occur.

"Groups that encourage antinatalism, or pursue antinatalist policies include the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement." wiki

I am interested in how you hold transhumanism and antinatalism, unless you mean just not having babies?

Loads of transhumanists dont reproduce. Loads of brilliant people have not Thales, Newton, Beethoven

my view is whatever turns you on.

Suffering and life seem integral @ present but the philosopher David Pearce has argued we can re-eingineer life to take away suffereing.

That may be possible.

I dunno.

Life has joy too, and the way I weighted it is that the future pleasure one may get is much more than the suffering IF one can live for ever, as suffering will eventually be dissolved.

Alternately, it may be possible to reverse suffering, which is a bit more complex, but viable I think.
