Hello (sorry, I will have to speak in English).

I am a big fan of NANO (3SAT, 18.30 German time, http://www.3sat.de/nano -- cordially recommended). I think it’s the best popular science program in the world (“Discovery” doesn’t stand a chance). It is watched all over Europe (I have been watching it in Israel). A couple of years ago they covered the “World Transhumanist Association”. I was wondering if we could somehow get them cover the Immortality Institute, as we are getting bigger, more productive, and better organized. Such exposure could be very helpful for the cause. Ihre meinung?

Hallo ilia

I think just having the site mentioned in Nano’s “Die Tipps in Kurze” would already be great. A short interview with an ImmInst leader, explaining the movement’s goals, would be just excellent. Now that I come to think of it, Kulturzeit wouldn’t be a bad exposure either. That’s really what we have to offer: declare our conviction that life-extension/immortality is good and possible, and hope others will join.
Ilia.

No it can't -its a German TV show.

You might find the forum next door more useful:

Well, I guess if you have an appropriate TV cable subscription or a satellite dish you can. I know it can be watched here in Israel, and also in Italy, and Czechia. I don’t think it is available via the Internet. But you might visit their website http://www.3sat.de/nano. It has a pretty nice search engine with a lot of resources on biology and life-extension. It is all in German. Actually I have picked up quite a lot of both German and science through it. Best, Ilia.

Holá

my last stay in Spain is long time ago, ..... but i will try it :

Ilia, I think this is a very good idea. Like all very good ideas, nearly all it needs is a dedicated person trying hard to make it real. If there were someone actually organizing this (i.e. contacting nano, doing whatever they say it takes, ect.), then I'd be happy to present my take on what imminst has to offer or rejuvenation medicine in general in any detail that nano can possibly want.
Since I'm not all that formally involved in the actual administration of the institute, I recommend that a similar statement be solicited from an imminst director (e.g. a certain German-speaking one) in addition.
I see no reason not to start now. Are you up for this?

Ja, yes, oui

The day people stop asking "Why don't you...?" and start asking "Do you mind if I do...?" my tea will taste so much sweeter.

I know, any initiative is punishable by its execution ;)
But I think a German-speaking negotiator is better suited for this job.

Nope, it is rewarded by the opportunity of its execution. German TV producers, like TV producers in general, are very adept at English conversation.

Great!
Because following John’s response and yours, I was going to write them myself (which I was in no authority to do).
Indeed, this gets discussed a little too much. But the hopeful result could make great PR for ImmInst, especially its European branches.
Best.

Sehr geehrter Herr Sethe,
