Hey everyone, I'm new to nootropics and supplements in general, and I've recently started taking aniracetam. I've been doing 2x750mg Aniracetam (which I got from Smart Powders) and 2x2.4g lecithin as a choline source. I've always had a spoonful of organic peanut butter or a glass of whole milk or something before taking the ani, since some people say you NEED to take it with fat and some people say you don't I figured there's not much harm in doing it anyway.

Anyways, this is my fourth day with this stack and as of yet I haven't really felt any distinctive effects. The first day I took it, I felt a little bit out of it, but that may have just been a placebo. The only other thing that potentially could have been attributed to the ani was yesterday, I took 1500mg instead of my usual 750 in the late afternoon and stayed up later than normal. I didn't really feel tired as I usually do, but that may have just been because I got 10 hours of sleep compared to my usual 7 or 8.

My goal for taking this racetam is to ease my anxiety, but since that can be a difficult thing to pinpoint I've been looking for color enhancement, audio enhancement, and other cognitive functions but I'm fairly sure that I haven't experienced any (if they're not VERY subtle, I would have noticed). I'd like this to work since I don't think my anxiety is bad enough to need SSRIs so I'd like to try a less drastic solution (not that there's anything wrong with them, but they look like they have some unpleasant side effects). Also, I struggle with procrastination but am a very good student, so I'm also interested in the focus aspect of the drug.

Thanks for any and all advice!

EDIT: Would also like to add that I'm drinking lots of water and no coffee or alcohol.

Aniracetam has two phases of effects: first, it relaxes you for several hours, then it wakes you up later.

You aren't responding well to these doses of aniracetam, so you probably need to bump up to higher doses. Try taking 3 capsules in the morning and another one in the afternoon (or earlier if you start feeling overstimulated), and see how that treats you. Aniracetam is very safe, so you can take doses as high as 5 capsules at a time. Alternatively, you can take a large loading dose of 3 capsules at once, and then take an additional capsule every 1-3 hours to maintain dosage. Just remember to quit taking it before late afternoon so you don't have insomnia.

From what I've read and my experience with nootropics, it usually takes 3-5 weeks to start noticing actual effects of racetams. Give it some patience, and try stacking it with Piracetam (sicne piracetam is relatively cheap). Best of luck! I just ordered some Aniracetam to stack to my Oxiracetam and Piracetam stack with CDP Choline.

Listen to these guys - they are spot on.

Your not responding to the ani, so you have two options:

1 - increase the doses, do a strong attack dose then maintain with normal doses
2 - just keep taking them each day and after about 2-3 weeks you'll probably really 'feel it'

Personally I'd suggest sticking with the peanut butter or other fat source and not using the milk. I have found that milk does not allow my nootropics to absorb the best. The same goes for raw eggs (which I love!) so I always have to take my stack and raw eggs spaced out (which works good for the choline)
