Hello, I'm a 19 year old male and my regimen is centered around overall health especially staying cancer free and chronic illness free.
I don't like the more is better approach, I try to take as few supplements as possible.
Food: Low carb (less than 100g a day) moderate protein and fat mostly based around non starchy vegetables and fruits. I also eat fish twice a week. I avoid grains, legumes, processed food (as much as possible) and non fish animal protein and fat.
I also fast once a week. Sometimes I add another day if I feel like it.
I usually eat 1600 calories per day (trying to lose some weight).
Exercice: 3 times a week strenght training with 30 minutes of cardio. I'd like to increase this to 6x30 min cardio sessions per week but I can't due to time constraints.
Supplements:
Amazing grass Green superfood: 1 scoop per day, mix of vegetable and fruit extract; provides a lot of antioxidants and it tastes good.
B12: my diet is deficent in this so I take 500 ug every day except on the ones I eat fish
Cod liver oil/ other fish oil: I take 3g per day.
Vitamin d3: I've been defficent in the past so I take 1000 ui per day in the form of softgel capsules
Vitamin C: I take liposomal twice a week (1000 mg) and ''regular'' three times a week.
Iodine: 1000 mcg every other day
Milk thistle: three times a week 500mg
Piracetam 1.6g with 750mg of choline = during revision periods
pramiracetam 1g with 750mg of choline = during exams
Things I'm thinking of adding:
creatine - I used to take it for bodybuilding reasons, i'm thinking of a more ''health'' oriented goal 2g or so per day but I've got to get my kidneys checked before I do.
Selenium
Calcium this is lacking a bit my diet although blood tests showed I have slightly elevated calcium diet which my GP thought was hypercalcemia (tested twice and levels were slightly elevated both times) but a follow up with my endo showed that corrected for Albumine my calcium level is good, my thryoid levels etc are all normal so there was nothing to worry about). I'm still not confident enough to supplement this, I think I might just add more collard, spinach and sun dried tomatoes.
Curcumin - still debating about either adding it naturally to my diet or taking a supplement
I don't really like the idea of taking a pill every single day (exception made for vitamin d) which is why many of my supplements are only taken a few times a week. Not necessarly for health reasons but I think my diet is good so I don't really need heavy supplementation (again I might be wrong and I'm open for suggestions).
Basically my criteria for for adding something to my regmien: must be usable long term, relatively safe and not easily available through whole food sources. My main goal is to stay as health as possible and cancer free. Longevity isn't necessarly my goal. Dying at 75 of a hearth attack while having lived a perfectly healthy life would be ideal but unrealistic :p
