Last week tuesday I took one dose of modafinil 100mg. I felt slight itching all over my body for the rest of the day, I had similar itching from mild allergic reactions to tetracycline and amoxillin.

The itching subsided and I was fine until now. Right now I am feeling sick, I have a sore throat, a slight cough, runny nose and general feeling of uneasiness. There has been no rash at all so far but I'm scared, is this the beginning of SJS for me? Can one small dose of modafinil cause that? Or is this just a general sickness.

Someone please help.

Blackzis...

I personally have had erythema multiforme before (pretty much same as SJS, and this was not due to modafinil), and the only symptom you list that I had early on was the sore throat. The first things I felt were a sore throat, semi-swollen tongue, dry mouth, and itchy eyes. The skin itself did not itch early on until actual lesions started to apper.

I would not worry too much as a lot of what you are describing could be related to anxiety.

Thank's RATMpgh, it seems to just be a cold, the sore throat was brought on by smoking a cigar, the stuffy nose was the first sign to appear a few days ago. As of now I just have some mild fatigue, cough and dark yellow phlegm, signs of the common cold, my nose is clearing up though.
If anything else happens I'll post here again.

Btw, in the unlikely case of SJS, what can someone do to ensure that they aren't scarred physically for the rest of their lives? Looks matter.

Yeah I wouldn't worry too much about it. Me personally though, staying far away from modafinil since I have already have Erythema Multiforme.

Good luck!
