So for the last three days I have been drinking matcha green tea, supposed to be the strongest of all.
I usually have between 1-4 cups a day.
First day I got a nice wide eye calm alert feeling, the next day some mild alertness, now it seems to have no effect. I even drank a cup after dinner, still went to sleep at my normal time.
Why am I not gettings that nice clean energy back?
Is it easy to build tolerance?

I take matcha tea in room temperature water. It doesn't have much caffeine that way because there is no heat to release it.

Not sure what happened for you. If there was no heat used, then there would be little caffeine. Is there something else you're taking counteracting the caffeine?

A lot of people on this site express concern about acquired tolerances to things like caffeine but that hasn't been something I know that much about.

I can't stand normal coffee, it gives my upset stomach and headaches. The matcha I drink either in a shake or hot temp below boiling.
Could I be od'ing on the l-theanine in the tea?

Don't know.

Unboiled matcha has a slight stimulant effect for me but less than brewed green tea. Because you actually eat the tea leaves and they are uncooked, they release different nutrients than brewed tea. I think that for those that value the health effects of green tea, taking some matcha in room temperature water now and then allows them to get all the nutrients green tea has to offer.
