Alright so I decided to create a thread listing a variety of relatively unknown compounds with potential nootropic effects.

Indeloxazine - "cerebral activator" used in Japan.
Teniloxazine - investigated as a neuroprotective and nootropic agent but ultimately developed and approved as an antidepressant in Japan.
Minocycline - antibiotic that has demonstrated neurorestorative as well as neuroprotective properties.
P7C3A20 - "Neurogenesis Enhancer"
Pirisudanol - used in Europe for mild cognitive impairment, fatigue and depression.
Taltirelin - thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) analog with purported nootropic, neuroprotective and analgesic effects.
Linopirdine - purported cognition-enhancing drug.
Leteprinim - hypoxanthine derivative with neuroprotective and nootropic effects.
Bifemelane - used for senile dementia in Japan.
Ispronicline - neural nicotinic acetylcholine receptors partial agonist with antidepressant, nootropic and neuroprotective effects.
S-17092 - selective Prolyl endopeptidase inhibitor producing nootropic effects.
C16 - ?
Semax - Russian drug with purported nootropic, neuroprotective and neurorestorative properties.

Thats it for now I'll update periodically. Feel free to add compounds to the list.

If anyone tried any of those it would be cool to have some feedback :-D

Not many (if any at all). You would have to buy in bulk from China.

Thanks for posting the list with links, this will be a fun topic to follow. Taltirelin looks quite interesting due to its combined effects and unique mode of action relative to other noots.

Minocycline isn't noticable in terms of memory, perhaps after a couple months it would help.

The muscarinic M1 receptor positive allosteric modulator PQCA improves cognitive measures in rat, cynomolgus macaque, and rhesus macaque.

Thought a muscarinic PAM was quite interesting, and I don't know of any that are currently available.

edit: And maybe the ChAT enhancer Polygalae Radix.

Statins may have a neuroprotective effect. http://www.ncbi.nlm....pubmed/22789904

Delta-opioid agonists may have nootropic effects since they are the opposite of mu-opioid agonists (Most pain medication) in many effects and have anti-depressant effects. Wikipedia also says they upregulate BDNF http://en.wikipedia....opioid_receptor
http://www.plosone.o...al.pone.0004410

Benzodiazapine receptor inverse agonists have been talked about some here, but they are kinda finge. Very interesting and some seem to have a mixture of agonistic effects and antagonistic effects. Finding one with the right mixture of effects could theoretically result in a nootropic drug that is both anxiolytic and stimulatory following from the ratio of the effects on anxiety relative to sedation differ between benzo drugs so we could assume that the effect are not directly correlated to one another.

Also, I would be careful about minocycline. I was thinking about taking it a few months back until I read this. (from wikipedia)

Prolonged use of minocycline over an extended period of time can lead to blue-gray skin and blue-gray staining of scar tissue is not permanent but it can take a very long time for the skin colour to return to normal; on the other hand a muddy brown skin colour in sun exposed areas is usually a permanent skin discolouration. Permanent blue discoloration of gums or teeth discoloration may also occur

example

and this

Occasionally minocycline therapy may result in autoimmune disorders such as drug related lupus and auto-immune hepatitis; minocycline induced auto-immune hepatitis when it occurs usually occurs in men who also developed minocycline induced lupus, however, women are the most likely to develop minocycline induced lupus. Significant or complete recovery occurs in most people who develop minocycline induced autoimmune problems within a period of a couple of weeks to a year of cessation of minocycline therapy. Autoimmune problems emerge during chronic therapy but can sometimes occur after only short courses of a couple of weeks of therapy

and then the fact that taking an antibiotic long term isn't the best thing to do if you don't need to. Considering the mildness of minocycline's cognitive effects, I don't think it is worth risking developing antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

I have been on minocycline HCL 100 mg 2x day for a little over 2 weeks and have noticed a slight improvement in clarity of thought. This may of well been placebo or possibly attributable to it wiping out some lingering infections. It is still much too early to render any sort of verdict thou. I have 6 weeks left of the treatment, so we will see if I feel anything noteworthy by then... It also seems to add about 2-3 hours to my normal 7-8 hours of required sleep, but there are many other factors that might explain that.

I know this is an old thread but I recently came across a site that sells Taltirelin. And read a review from a member on another board that was very interesting in a good way.
Maybe someone on this forum has recently run some research with this peptide!?

Where did you see that? I'm interested.
