Most of the time, racetams don't work well for me at all. Piracetam tends to make me SUPER sleepy, especially in doses of over a gram with a choline source (usually I use 300-600mg of AGPC). The first time I tried phenylpiracetam I felt super intelligent for about 20 minutes and then felt tired the rest of the day, and subsequent doses haven't worked. Aniracetam was especially weird. First time I had it, I didn't feel too much. Second time I felt like time was moving slower, and third time or so, I felt super intelligent all day. Every time after that it just made me somewhat tired though. Noopept seems to work quite well, but I think on occasion it will make me tired.
The general trend I'm noticing is that even with adequate choline supplementation, racetams only seem to work (extremely well) very briefly and then just be deleterious to cognition. In fact, choline seems to make the sleepiness worse with piracetam. Does anyone have any idea what could be different with me chemistry-wise to explain this?
