Well according to this article the reason why we might forget our childhood is because of excessive neuronal growth :

I guess this is also applicable for our adults brain. If that is true then I guess stimulating NGF, BNDF isn't a good thing afterall?
As our adults brain are developed wouldn't it be wiser to slow down neuronal growth while keeping it intensive enough to cope with neuron apoptosis?
