I'm trying Piracetam, Choline, L-Theanine and GABA just before bed to help relax and help me remember some of my dreams. I have three questions:

1. Will any of these keep me awake?

2. Are all of these effective on an empty stomach?

3. Does anyone have any other suggestions to help sleep and remember dreams?

Thanks for any help

I have found piracatem to have a mild insomnia-promoting effect, but if I take some valerian root with it I have no problems. I have aawesome dreams on piracatem. Centrophenoxine causes extreme sleeplessness for me if taken before bed. I try to take my last dose no later than 3 PM. My favorite nootropic to take before bed is ashwaganda. It calms me and makes me sleepy.

I would pick either L-theanine or GABA(not both) since they are similar in effect and action. If you do decided on one only L-theanine is better IMO.
I used to use 3-5g of GABA at bedtime and am able to get the same effect/result with 300mg of L-Theanine.

I take 1.2g of Piracetam/ 350mg N-acetyl Tyrosine/ 50mcg Hup-A/ 100mg Alpha GPC and 15mg Vinpocetine at 11:00pm and sleep like a rock, so not everyone will be stimulated by any given nootropic.

3.
For sleep, I strongly recommend 5-HTP, a serotonin precursor, over any other supplement, including GABA.

For remembering dreams, I recommend Bacopa over Ashwagandha. Ash has some great physical/anti-stress properties, but Bacopa is better for memory.

Finally, Niacinamide is a vitamin B analogue that's really helpful for sleep. Niacinamide doesn't have "flush" effect that plain Niacin has (though I kind of like the flush).

2.
empty stomach is usually better.

1.
Piracetam is a neurostimulant, I'd drop it.

Also, L-theanine while it does promote relaxation, doesn't cause drowsiness. In fact it actually lowers serotonin levels. Personally, I don't take theanine before bed, but it could work for someone who is too tense to get to sleep.

... 350mg N-acetyl Tyrosine...

Again I see this version over regular L-Tyrosine. I have read numerous studies that concluded it was actually less bio-availble, am I mistaken?
