Hey.

I have been reading up on nootropics for some time now, lurking on these forms for a bit.
Then suddenly I get free Noopept from a friend. Didn't work for him so he threw it my way.
I have never taken any racetam analogue, racetam or even a proper nootropic before (a lot of experience with stims though) and was wondering if a dose of 5mg or 10 mg x1 or x2 a day would do the trick?
I also plan on using CDP-citicoline 300 mg x2 a day as well, good idea?

Posted this because I have not seen many threads where total nootropic virgins jump in the deep end with Noopept. What could I expect as a newbie on the pept?

Eagerly awaiting replies.

Take 10mg per day for a week and on your first dose setup a patio chair out the front/back of your house or in a forest somewhere, drink only water and see how it affects you for the rest of the day.

This is how I did my first dosage a week ago and I was enjoying the effects quite a bit.

Do not take more than 1 tablet at any one time, 1 tablet/10mg is heaps and I once took two tablets at once and my face went bright red and I felt weird. If after a week at 10mg you want to up the dose, take the 2nd tablet at least 5 hours after the last one. But I've found myself that 1 tablet (10mg) a day is more than enough for me, I get fatigued a great deal in the late afternoon if I take 2 (20mg)

I noticed:
Increased sense of awareness of birds, butterflies, peoples mobile phones, a car coming out of the driveway 3-4 times, the exact same car, I also remembered its licence plate. I also went out in my car (dont drive for a few weeks while on noopept) and I noticed I had far more self confidence when behind the wheel, however I was lacking in skills needed for being a safe driver while driving, I felt that all of the other drivers were stupid and doing stupid things and that I was the only one being safe on the road, which wasnt necesserially true. I was so distracted by everything around me, the billboards, the trees, the people crossing the road, the minor defect of that car 30 meters away, that taking noopept and driving was actually very dangerous, because my mind was cluttered by everything else that I simply plumb forgot my simple basic road rules and road safety tips. (Even though I made it home safely, there was a point there that I was going to have a panic attack, but I am aware of panic attacks and I stopped myself from getting it.)

Its a nice experience, but stay at home while you take your doses for at least the next few weeks and enjoy the experience while you do your regular tasks.

I also noticed a significantly increased sex drive, some people notice a reduced sex drive but I dont, which is suprising considering that I usually get reduced sex drive/inanorgasmia while on SSRI's, not so with Noopept, I'm enjoying the change thats for sure!

Increased sustain while doing a task is a welcome sign too, I have noticed that I can do more than one task at a time now, but I'm not entirely sure if this will last for a long period or if its just a temporary thing, will have to wait and find out.

Is it the blister pack/genuine russian article or is it a powdery substance with a tiny measuring spoon? My experience was on the blister pack tablets.

I've also noticed that my brain feels like the clock has been turned back 10 years, back to when I was 18, some aspects of my mind are still lagging, BUT I do feel more youthful than I did before, even my muscles react differently, before they were more sluggish which is probably associated with the gradual onset of pheripheral neuropathy, which runs in the family, being kicked in the butt by Noopept. Not entirely sure, and this is all subjective evidence, but I sure as hell wont be giving up my noopept.

Oh also, I've noticed my vocabularly and ability to string together long sentences has improved.

Also, if you want a stronger/purer effect, try taking one pill, one dose, BEFORE you eat ANYTHING in the morning, ie before breakfast. I've found that the effects are purer in some way.

I wouldnt usually suggest this, but my first dosage was before breakfast/before I ate anything, and that gave me the results that I've posted above that occured on my first day, ie when I sat out the front and watched everything. It would be a shame to just give up these results to the ethers of my mind and not publish them.

Most noots are very subtle, including noopept. You can't feel them that much in the sense of that you can feel ritalin, modafinil, or other potent stimulants. Most racetams only show their effects when you are studying or doing other cognitively demanding activities and you will suddenly realize that things become easier than before. So, they can best be seen as subtle learning aids rather than magic brain pills some confuse them for.

On my first go with noopept I tried 20mg and then a further 10mg. The effects kicked in quite suddenly later in the day and were far from subtle. I now realise this was an attack dose, and much more than required generally. I went down to 5mg as it started to build up in my system. Now I'm on a second run and need no more than 2.5mg, and it still seems to be building up past the optimum point! It's stronger than it first appears and gradually catches up with you. Combining with Alpha-GPC in small doses (say 50-80mg) proved effective. 6 weeks seems to be the maximum recommended run according to medical guidelines, with a month off. If it's getting a bit much (any negative reactions, tension, negative emotions, physical reactions) then consider skipping a day and lowering the dose. This is an important point - as with many racetams, if you stop getting the right result, part of you will very insistently suggest taking more to get the results back, but they may well come back when you take less, or stop altogether. If you are tense, lower the dose. This time I will taper off when I finish the run, as last time stopping dead meant two days of memory loss and confusion. It's strange stuff, hard to pin down, yet I find myself wanting it. On a good day it's excellent, just making everything kind of better, more interesting, more vivid, more creative, more enthusiastic...

LabRat - sounds like you may be sensitive to racetam as 10 to 40mg is the recommended daily dosage for noopept. But everyone is different. I have been taking 20mg twice a day for about a month and a half. First time I took it I did feel something was in my systems but did not notice any real benefits until 3 weeks in.
