I have made 2 reports in the last week or so and I have not seen any action taken. I don't take kindly to having abuse hurled at me and NORMALLY moderators on this board is very good at making sure that things don't get out of control.

So can someone please tell me what is going on? If this is a free for all now then I will just go elsewhere but that would be a shame. I can only hope that there is a good reason for this like everyone being too busy or some problem with the software.

What are other peoples views on this?

That's weird. Whenever I report posts, which is fairly rare that I do, I have almost always seen a moderator view the reported thread within 10-20 minutes of reporting.

What kind of abuse are you talking about?

PWAIN: I have suspended the users you were justly complaining about. However, please consider as well your own role in making this forum a polite, constructive and welcoming place!

We are grateful to our Moderators but they act as a censor or last resort, not as childminders.

Incidentally all Members are 'Deputy Moderators'

Thanks Caliban, I will refrain from using the term Troll in future if that is what you are referring to. Generally I would like to think I am polite towards others in this forum.
Could you please delete the quoted text too (in posts # 1525 and 1526), I cannot edit mine and wouldn't be able to edit the one that follows.

Interesting about the Deputy moderators. What is the cut off for negative votes making a post invisible? It is at -9 and still visible so I'm guessing more than that.

Hi there, to whom should I address concerns regarding posts being made that clearly fail to recognize the potentially dangerous outcome(s) which might result from responses made to the OP, that more than clearly should be regarded as alarming.

My concern isn't necessarily one of interventional interest, rather, regarding the well being and possibly problematic disregard for the sensitive nature and tone of OP's safety.

I'm not overly comfortable posting this here—clearly out of place, and didn't know how to summon a mod. Please self destruct when appropriate.

Thx

Outside of this particular issue, we could use some additional moderators if we want to make the forum better and develop the "specialist/elite" forum idea.

Use the "Report" button at the bottom of the post.  This will bring it to the attention of mods.
