Hi,

I am going to purchase "Raw Cacao Powder". It comes in a sort of plastic non-vacuum sealed package. And you buy it in stores.

Now, I am using it to get the best effects from it, mainly to increase my mood. I am not relaying on it to increase my mood or anything like that, but by the side in general.

Question:
-> What is the best way to mix the Cacao powder to get the best benefit?. TASTE DOES NOT MATTER.
E.G: Water,Hot Water,Milk,In a smoothie,etc.

Results: -> For best absorption in body resulting in best effects.

Thank you.

I like a spoonful of cocao in my morning coffee, with milk.

It's great in the morning with oatmeal, nuts, beans and blackstrap molasses. Milk/substitute is optional.

I just dump the scoop in my mouth and squirt some water from a bottle, swallow, squirt more water, swallow, it's down by then. Then *shudder* and drink more water. But that's because I'm usually lazy as hell. It's worth it though.

I generally take it on an empty stomach with some of my other empty-stomach powders, just with a lot of water. If you want to drink it, I think it dissolves easiest in warm-hot water.

Most of the really good stuff that you want cacao for is water-soluble. So it may be best for absorption if you took it with just water or 10-20 mins after eating a snack or light meal. If your stomach doesn't appreciate the cacao by itself then, yeah, eat something with it.

Good luck bro, I hope you like it!

Don't get sucked into the market, there's not really such a thing as raw cocoa powder. Just dutched and non-dutched from the same pre-processed cocoa beans. I like to put it in with my coffee or make hot chocolate from it.

Well, raw cocoa is made from unroasted beans, whereas ordinary cocoa is made from roasted beans. The beans are not "unprocessed", as they are always fermented after harvesting, raw or roasted. Raw cocoa powder provides approximately twice the amount of polyphenols as regular, undutched cocoa powder. If that is worth the lack of taste and the much higher price point is up to your decision.

If you don't mind to mix it with some other super foods for a nice synergy effect, you could try my Polypulp.

Hot coffee or hot water (with a little cinnamon for additional flavor, if necessary).

I've found that milk is generally a poor choice because the cacao powder doesn't blend well and gets clumpy (solubility issues will require experimentation on your part). Hot water is just fine.

What is dutched/non dutched?

It's a processing method, becoming increasingly common because it makes the chocolate taste better.

If you have dark chocolate that tastes quite smooth and nice rather than bitter then it's probably Dutch process.
