Prof. Hilton Hotema

" Man dies not because of his age, not because it is impossible for him to live longer, but because, thru defiance of the law, he forfeits his right and priviledge to live longer. In other words, a man only lives so long as he knows how to live, and he dies because of his lack of knowlege of how to live longer."

Herbert Spencer ------ " Perfect correspondence ( between the Living Organism and its enviroment ) would be perfect life. Were there no changes in the environment but such as the organism had adapted changes to meet, and were it never to fail in the efficiency with which it met them, that would be eternal ( physical) existence and eternal knowledge.

" From the cuneiform records of Babylon 2170 B.C. we learn that post-diluvian man lived 1200 years, but prior to that he lived for unbelievable ages." [B)] ( Krypton, in Quartum Organum, p. 458 ).

The best documented Chinese man of longevity is Professor Li Chung Yun, who is reputed to have lived 256 years, from 1677 to 1933. Proving his age, it is documented that at the age of 100 he was awarded a special Honor Citation for extraordinary service to his country and that he gave a series of 28 lectures at the University of Sinkiang at the age of 200.

Interesting post Friutimmortal but I am doing some research myself on Professor Li Chun Yen and it seems that the Xingjiang University started 1941 and the earliest I could find was 1924 could not find one before that date. I am looking for his lectures and am able to look here in China as I am here in Beijing, but don't know where to find these lectures. Please help!! [huh]

Thankyou

Hi Alegro37.

Li Chung Yun was also known as a Herbalist. His advise for long life

" keep quiet heart, sit like a Tortoise, sleep like a dog."

The New York times reported his Death on May 6 1933. The report said that he buried 23 wives and had 180 descendents.

I dont know how you can locate his lectures. You could search Google.com by
his name/longevity and find more specific info.

Best wishes for your search

My pleasure allegro37,

You can find his teachings at Amazon.com.

The book Title is:

Qi gong Teachings of a Taoist Immortal, the author is Stuart Alve Olson;(translater of the original Yun Teachings)
According to this book the correct name of this longlived person is
LI CHING YUN.

I found several sites at Google.com referring to his documented long life. Unfortunaltly my
Computer knowledge is limited; otherwise i would have provided the links.

Peace [sfty]

Thanks but there many that write books or sell products and use his name in order to sell their products. One Tai Chi teacher econs that his master was taught by Li Chun Yen, another company on the net (in China) say he ate termites, what are they selling in tablet form? Termites. Mr Olson teaches Bagua whcih is a soft martial art like Tai Chi, of course Li Chun yun is supposed to have practised this art and is the method of his longevity, many have practise Bagua in China and have not reached such an old age so that answer is not in the art of Bagua in my opinion.

If you live to the age of a hundred you have it made because very few people die past the age of a hundred.

The chess board is the world, the pieces are the phenomena of the universe, the rules of the game are what we call the laws of nature and conquering death is the basic intelligence test in the physical universe. But it is not the strongest of the species that survives, it is not the smartest that survives, it is the one most adaptable to change.

A great deal of money is expended on funerals and that, in itself, seems to betray a lack of confidence in the resurrection of the dead.

Since life requires a specific course of action, any other course will destroy it. A being who does not hold his own life as the motive and goal of his actions, is acting on the motive and standard of death. Such a being is a metaphysical monstrosity, struggling to oppose, negate, and contradict the fact of his own existence, running blindly amuck on a trail of destruction, capable of nothing but pain.
