I have personal experience with 100mg modafinil while on moclobemide (reversible MAOAi, to a lesser extent inhibits also MAOB). It definitely made me wide awake despite my sleep deprivation and also nearly hypomanic. The adverse effects that I noticed were minor headache and insomnia on the following night. It seems that a MAOi potentiates modafinil since later when I tried 100mg again without moclobemide I did not experience any effects worth mentioning (tolerance?).

I have been taking 200mg modafinil with either 2.5 or 5mg deprenyl (tablet) for a month now. I do feel slightly more anxious when I take the 5mg.

your are very sensitive to the amphetamine metabolite. your tolerance will increase with time.

Just wanted to point out that this particular thread was referenced by the wikipedia entry for modafinil, here:

Anecdotally, many researchers in math and physics who try modafinil report a detrimental (but reversible) effect upon inductive reasoning and creativity with chronic (but not acute) use, an effect not seen with caffeine and classical amphetamines.[19]

I'll leave it to you to decide whether this thread is sufficient evidence to make that claim. I am proud of our notoriety though.

Ha! That's flattering and depressing all at once. A bit like being hit on by Tina Turner.

Depressing? Mate, if I was around 30 years ago & was hit on by Tina, I sure as hell would not be depressed.

*Shameless Bump*

Was wondering if any of the people who used to be on this combo, still using it with the same effects?

Was thinking of starting on this(50mg modafinil + 2mg selegiline daily), any advice?

I currently have both at home, Modalert and Jumex (Deprenyl/Selegeline).
Since Jumex alone just made me tired and Modalert sometimes makes me edgy, I might try them togteher.

The only thing is that I'm worried about having to do a blood test (which I might have to soon), and Amphetmine-metabolites being found in my blood - causing needless confusion among my doctors.

- So I can't say when exactly I'll actually get to try it - but as soon as I do, I'll report back here.

Came across this old thread during a Google search.

I have been prescribed 6mg transdermal selegiline ("Emsam" patch) and 400mg oral modafinil daily.

This is to treat sleep disorder (hypersomnia--nearly identical to narcolepsy but cannot be diagnosed as such in absence of sleep-onset REM which were not detected during multiple sleep latency test which I had performed after an all night sleep study to rule out apnea and other disorders)

...and some combination of ADHD/executive functioning issues and a morass of anxiety/depression.

I can't speak to its effectiveness for anything in particular (I still can take a nap after I swallow the modafinil with a morning cup of coffee) but the combo isn't killing me or causing any adverse affects.

I'll probably stop the modafinil because the whole point was to keep me awake and not really succeeding there.

a bit like the interaction between manganese or chromium and iron (in case you weren't aware, it makes stainless or hardened steel).  or perhaps it's more akin to neptunium polluting a pure sample of plutonium-239 (a sort of getting-in-the-way effect).  i'm not really a doctor, so i couldn't really tell you.  i will say its a gutsy move, and thats coming from a major league guinea pig.  stacking 3 or 4 littler things would almost certainly be safer: methylene blue, nefiracetam, forskolin, ginkgo, royal jelly, caffeine, rhodiola, yohimbe or whatever floats your boat really

200 mg modafiline and 2.5 mg selegiline (sublingual) made me so that I want to jump out of my skin. At the end I had to take rivotril to relax.
