http://www.bbc.co.uk...ate/index.shtml

I thought I would share this article with you guys, but I do not know if it contains anything new (and its an old article).

I generally eat about 50 to 100 grams of 70% cacao dark chocolate, 1 teaspoon cacao nibs over chocolate ice cream, and a cup or two of dark hot chocolate per day.

From article:

This type of effect is a possible scenario for the development of a physical dependency on chocolate. Current studies of psychoactive drugs show that addiction is associated with the formation and reinforcement of unusual neurotransmitter pathways in the brain. So it's just possible that, with every binge, your brain is being gradually 'rewired' in order to make you love chocolate more and more!

This may be true. Unlike other stimulants which I generally notice a tolerance and decreasing effectiveness with use, it seems from my experience that the effect from chocholate actually increases with time.

I always thought that theobromine was the stimulant that I was eating it for, but the article suggests that it may be any of several other chemicals.

Have you tried chocomine yet? A lot of people claim that chocomine has the same energy boosting and euphoric effects as real chocolate, without the fat and sugar.

chocamine is AMAZING!If any members would like a sampel to try just lmk ill send ya a freebie(hope thats a cool offer to post?)
It does give u some CRAZY energy,BUT the euphoric effects are very very mild as the pea content gets largely destroyed in the stomach.I have a source that is just about to come out with a similar chocamine compound that KEEPS the integrity of the pea intact so as to have the energy AND quite possibly the most LEGAL euphoric effect of the sort.Should be interesting.

I love Chocamine (and use it a few times a week in AMP), but I'm pretty sure I've read a study where it was found to be neurotoxic. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Studies:

In vitro pharmacological activity of the tetrahydroisoquinoline salsolinol present in products from Theobroma cacao L. like cocoa and chocolate.

Salsolinol, a dopamine-derived tetrahydroisoquinoline, induces cell death by causing oxidative stress in dopaminergic SH-SY5Y cells, and the said effect is attenuated by metallothionein.

However, I feel like a little unsweetened dark chocolate every day is definately acceptable, due to the health benefits. I don't know if anyone could stomach enough of that stuff to take in a substantial amount of salsolinol.

juggernaut333 you have a shop and send freebies? or you love chocamine so much and want everyone to try it? ;)

chocamine is good i guess, never got any special effects from 2-3 gr dose, so i stick to non fat cocoa, i take up to 10gr, mix it in water and drink, in hour or two i feel much better and happier
