I wanna do heaps of exercise for bdnf and executive function.
I wanna alternate machine rowing and jogging.
This will be a permanent lifestyle thing for me because I have mental health issues.

I wanna do light exercise for 2 hours a day rather than the quick bang it out after work 9-5 lifestyle.

Is this too much?

For light exercise, probably not. The CrossFit community is another thing entirely:

Interesting. I was expecting that the dirty little secret was going to be that they do not do any drug testing of contestants in events.

Yeah i'm extremely skeptical of crossfit. Especially the way they do their chin-ups as fast as possible with what appears to be complete disregard for form.

IMO swimming is probably the best all round exercise because there is low impact on joints. Of course it is still possible to over do that and people have worn out their shoulder joints from swimming hundreds of laps every day.

Two hours isn't too much for light exercise, depending on what you mean by "light."  Most laborers do light exercise all day without ill health effects.  Hunter gatherer communities may do light exercise (hiking, jogging, walking) etc., for hours at a time.
